@cz That happened to me. I had been with the company 31 years and received a meeting maker on a day that I took off from my manager's manager. It was a very hard day. 3 years later and honestly I'm still bitter. With the merger between Sprint and T-Mobile, we all had big dreams about the direction of the company but before we knew it layoffs were happening all over the place. It is really disappointing. :(
End user support under Marni Casanova and Mike Brown is getting hit today and tomorrow.
Someone needs to do a Twitter campaign to senators of states T-Mobile has headquarters. We are being let go, to move jobs to India. They even had the USGCI rules changed for US government information so that they could access it in India, which makes US workers even less required.
@d6 How long was your co-worker with the company? I have a "quick-sync" meeting at noon, and 9 years with the company.
I am safe but several other names that I know got notified today. We are in Overland Park.
@d3 my coworker got 9 weeks garden leave and I think a month or 2 severance
Is there any word on whether people are receiving a severance?
@ck I am scheduled for my "quick-sync" meeting at 12 pm MST. Sure hope there is a severance!
My wife is on PTO (and it’s her birthday) and got a meeting invite and note for a quick, important meeting :).
@aj All the layoffs are to pay for the free mlb.tv and to make sure all the latest VP to SVP promotions get paid for. Everytime there is an email for VP promotions then a few months later the org gets thinned out with lay offs.
EUS a bunch of techs and managers got 15 minute meetings including myself. Some techs have already been let go

@ca i think most of simon's org are in bellevue. everyone's still commuting to work
I just spoke with a friend in IT who has a sudden one-on-one on their Calendar this morning (March 24). I think the rumor of IT FTE cuts today is indeed true...

If it’s of interest, you might want to request a RIF and take advantage of the benefits that come with it. I know a few people who’ve gone down that route and had it approved… David L., Ryan, Asir, and Shyam for example.
