Gotta break it to you, OP. There are many who have not been to an office in 10 years or longer, and never will unless they decide to leave the company. RTO is only for the masses.

"assigned to an office but have NEVER been to the office in the whole of 2025"

I call BS. No way 3 people 100% skated for 10 months with all the monitoring.

@ch Then there is the exception of biased enforcement. 3 of my coworkers are assigned to an office but have NEVER been to the office in the whole of 2025. I've been counseled twice for being over an hour late. Once was for traffic congestion caused a tractor trailer fatality accident. The other was after my windshield was shattered during a horrendous hail storm. My truck had to be towed and I Ubered to and from work that day. I made up the lost time both days but it was not within the hours I was expected to be in the office.

"You don't report these problems to HR when a Level 5 was the approving authority."

Same same. We lost 3 of our team to random selection surplus. Extremely talented people. About 70% of our remaining team now work remotely. Half of those can't respond on Teams for 1-3 hours. Sick, lame and lazy always get a free pass.

"We all have the same policy. There’s no exception for Firstnet employees"

Don't kid yourself. There are many hundreds of exceptions. I easily spend 3 or more hours each week trying to engage remote workers, not only to get them to perform work, but to ensure they are at their computer. I was not asked for input when they were given permission to work remotely, and now my hands are tied. You don't report these problems to HR when a Level 5 was the approving authority. They created a problem, and now we have to deal with it on a near daily basis. I am also not permitted to select them as candidates for surplus, so yes, there are more exceptions than you can imagine.

I was working on part of FirstNet and got moved off of it. Thank god! It was not a good program to work for. Now there are rumors of more layoffs and I'm glad to be out of the firing line.

I work in FirstNet and more than half my team got cut earlier this year. All of them telecommuters who refused to relocate, including my former boss and his boss.

They included most of our best people; having trouble keeping up with the couple of back-fills we got who have no idea what they are doing.

There is no anonymous in HR. Your boss will be told you are a snitch. Unless you want your name on the short list, I would keep my trap shut.

We all have the same policy. There’s no exception for Firstnet employees. I would say if that’s happening, that is outside the policy and you should report them to HR.
