Just as many lazy prem techs will be gone!!
We had a Prem tech come into Business Services a couple of years ago, thought he knew all about the plant etc, he quickly found out u-verse is a small piece of the pie. He is still learning, will be a good tech in a few years.
Yeah, T isn't interested in displacing it's cheap prem/wire tech labor which is why the offer for them is so weak. Nevertheless, they'll still get some to take it and thin the herd a little. The big target is those overpaid and under-skilled core union employees that sit around breathing all the good air, complain endlessly for no reason and generally just make life miserable for the rest of us. Good riddance I say. JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WALK!!!!!!! Leave us in peace as we rebuild this ship.

You mo–n prem techs don't even know what core means. It always makes me laugh so hard when I hear one of you refer to any tech outside of your job title as "The I&R" or "INR". You wouldn't believe just how hard it is for some people to use webphone. Seriously.
Things are seriously getting crazy. It’s going to be the biggest layoff so far since the announcement of 2020. Surplus and buyouts. A lot of techs at low seniority are going to take the buyout because there going to be surplused anyways. I feel d9 union reps need to negotiate and get at least 25,000 for prem techs. Nobody is safe. Att is a great company just needs to restructure and get the sour apples out. Att will be back on top as the leading telecommunications company in the next 5 years.

From what I heard on a directors call it will be announced Tomorrow, Thursday. It will be allegedly only for techs and will be nationwide, it’s the offer that everyone has seen some of CWA got. Voluntary leave pay for prem and core, then prem gets an additional $5,000 and core will get an additional $50,000 and everyone who takes it will be off payroll prior to July 31st. Then management will be next. It is rumored that management will get some offer similar to the $50,000 core is receiving. I will say that as a manager I think it’s a huge smack in the face to prem that they are only getting an additional $5,000, like jeez give them at least $20,000.
