Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Strike

Morale is horrible across the board. Unless you’re in leadership or close with someone who is, you’re on your own. U.S. employees are treated like they don’t matter, while offshore teams get better support, flexibility, and recognition. It’s discouraging and unsustainable- and yet no one seems to be able to stop it. US employees (not in leadership roles) need to unite and demand changes immediately.

Your statement about moral and treatment is true. However, employees should band together and start looking for other jobs instead of making demands that will fall on deaf ears, then getting fired. Take control of your career instead of letting someone else control it.

@c9 Grade 29 and up bonuses start at 15% of annual salary. They always get factored down a bit, more in the past few years. But a grade 31 bonus starts around 30-40k.

This discussion is asinine. Non union strikes are grounds for termination with cause. Go ahead you'll be doing the company a favor.
Here come the negatives... But even though you smash the down arrow... You know I'm right.

I do find it amazing how better offshore employees are treated versus US based employees. They get significant raises, they have guarantee work from home privileges, and basically a holiday or two on a weekly basis. US employees get raises that don’t even hit inflation, forced to come into the office, and something like 8 holidays. For pete’s sakes, Christmas Eve is a work day here. I would love to have US employees get together and strike but it will probably not happen. Management just doesn’t care, they are only interested in short term profits and will be long gone and retired with multi millions when the company faces the long term consequences.

@bw not sure where your info is coming from but unless it’s senior leaders those “ bonuses” you mention are not in fact true. The department may differ but where I sit and have for many years - no one has ever seen a bonus of that kind. They are single digit percentages just like the raises.

@OP no one especially your managers will support any employee. This is a company that rewards the managers with big bonus. While you are getting a paltry 1000 bucks or less for your bonus, they are getting upward of 20000 to get you to do your unsustainable metrics so open your eyes. They will never make waves.
