This town hall was an exposure to just how bad cyber security is. The three main takeaways from the town hall are:
Use artificial intelligence and less engineers/technical people.
By the end of this year and forcing Azure MFA on all employees even bank tellers which means use of your personal phone for the authenticator application.
On your own personal time you are expected to learn everything you can about artificial intelligence the cloud and other enhancements of your job because cyber security will not give you said time during the work day to learn changes in your own area.
For those who are not aware I hope that this town hall shows just how non-technical our Wells Fargo cyber security executives are. Because they do not have strong technical backgrounds it is very likely that Microsoft is telling them how to do their job in the manner for which benefits Microsoft and based on the information shared at the Town Hall the executives are not putting any faith in the engineers that fall below them. If you looked at the internal jobs postings you probably have noticed over the last few months that cybersecurity is hiring a lot for administrative roles like managers or agile leads and not for analysts or engineers. Cyber security is getting cut for its technical personnel and those same technical people are expected to ensure that they are replaced by the artificial intelligence agents they are expected to build.
With the MFA enforcement push I'm pretty confident that there is legal issues with a company like Wells Fargo demanding that their employees put software on their personal devices and use it for work purposes but they're not going to pay you or reimburse you for that internet usage location tracking nor are they going to support you if there is some kind of issue with MFA being registered on said device.
