Give us assigned seats

Why would any company requiring people to be in the office 5 days a week NOT have assigned seating? It makes no sense.

Apparently San Ramon has exercised an option to stick around thru 2026. The original plan was to shut down the 3rd & 4th floors by EOY (leaving only the 2nd floor in the North wing) but now CRE will be closing only the 4th floor by end of 2025. Either way, San Ramon is being downsized and will eventually be closed altogether.

Nothing ATT does anymore makes sense! Their extremely poor decisions over the last 15 years or so have proven that time and time again! Very poor, unqualified leadership!

It’s not supposed to make sense JAFO. The intent is to make you miserable and cause disruption and chaos.

The only desire for AT&T is to reduce its domestic management workforce headcount and offload real estate holdings. The faster you move toward accepting this, the better off you’ll be. Stop trying to rationalize the actions of the dimwitted, careless imbeciles at the executive layer.

Be compliant, put on a smile and ride the stoopidity until we board another train or you retire. Complaining on this forum does absolutely nothing. That said, the new eNPS will open tomorrow so you’ll at least have a vent until 6/17.

@c0 sometimes in Alpharetta I park my car in assigned parking, and then they call me up, I say I didn’t find any parking space open and I didn’t want to loose time from my 8 hours in the office parking lot.

Next I would sit in one of the VP rooms.

Maybe they did not budget for name tags to mark the cubes? Maybe they are hoping some folks leave cuz they have not ordered more cubes? Maybe yhey don't want anyone getting too comfortable? Not sure.

Open seating is not about collaboration but the fact that they don't want to give us enough resources to actually work in a productive environment. Can't give us assigned seating because there's not enough seating yet for everyone. But, by making EVERYONE under C-Suite level absolutely f----ing miserable, surpluses, and hiring in India (yea, what an 'American' company T is), there should be enough seats for those that are left. . . . .

Wait until AI decimates the workforce -- the fun hasn't even begun.

Parking at Lenox wouldn't be such an issue if people wouldn't keep trying to park in the area that the Lenox property group has said is specifically off limits to T employees.

You don't get it. RTO was a HUGE push to force people out. Management seems to have the objective to make it the absolute worst place to work. I dont even call it AT&T any more, open your eyes, its IT&T , look at all the promotions and accolades, they all have one thing in common. They want you got, they are rolling the dice for a brain drain and that's what they got.

Open seating is intended to ensure increased collaboration where you don't necessarily sit with the same coworkers every day. It also prevents the common issue of seats being lost when workers take vacation and extended sick time. Assigned seating is not efficient in T's current environment.

Not assigning seats allows for increased collaboration with new people. It also makes sure all seats are available at all times. When an employee goes on vacation, a dedicated seat is my lost. Open seating has become a lot more common in office spaces.

When their goal is to get the number of employees to sub 100K range, they don’t see a reason to assign seats. They just want people to quit on their own..make as difficult as possible for people to leave. This has been clear since the past 1 year or so
