If you are a HBA - time is limited. Going forward in office roles are preferred and HBA roles will only be allowed to apply internally if approved by ELT. What a terrible experience for those of us who were hired as HBA. I would’ve stayed with my prior company had I known this would be the direction. The opportunities for HBA are gone.

@j8 - what is the current HBA percentage and what is the target percentage?
@bv they did build PP’s secret garden though
@an Not exactly- there will still be an approval process. If HBA applies to a hybrid role it will still have to be approved by ELT to offer them a role over a hybrid candidate. They have targets they need to hit to reduce HBA percentages.
@c2 they don’t have a long term strategy and a plan. That’s why you hear GPs talk about being “agile”. They are setting plans for a couple of weeks at a time. Can we just clean house first with incompetent leaders first since they botched the fake cascade1 work?
Why can’t this company get itself together? It’s been nothing but one headache after another. Do they realize most of us are adults? Why not just be transparent with the long term plan so we can prepare? They’re not helping anyone by spoon-feeding bad news and poison. At this point, it feels like the senior ELT has turned this entire thing into some morbid fetish. Cage Rattling for amusement and pleasure.
It is hilariously old fashioned.
The technology is present to allow associates to work from anywhere (ask an ELT member or several GPs) yet Edward Jones demands that associates return to the office.
It is like the Internet being available but still touting the availability of the Encyclopedia Brittanica on the bookshelf. Absurd.
Notice they don’t mind remote (India) work. Hmm… profit motive?
The “ask” (told) to return to office will be framed as some kind of “collaboration” dream.
The reality: Edward Jones received big tax incentives when they built these sarcophaguses for us to rot away in. Surrounding cities believed we’d be lunching at Chik-fil-A, Three Kings or Circle 7 five days a week and the cities involved have said that the bill is due, or bye-bye TIF.
Boomer leadership dreaming about the future, but being stuck in the past.
I give the firm 10 more years until irrelevance.
All the reasons for ER was bogus.
We're we supposed to be making decisions more efficient with this.... how in he-l is senior leadership needing to weigh in on and approve if individual roles can be done remotely make anything more efficient?
My understanding is that all openings will be posted as Hybrid. The senior leadership approval is for the OPENING to be posted as remote. All internal candidates who are HBAs can apply to and be considered for any open position and retain their HBA status.
What about HBA's that are out of state, will the commutable distance apply or are they getting rid of that all together and making those people move or quit? And also what about attracting top talent outside of just STL, did that go out the window too?
