Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Tech at Nike has to be..

  • the most toxic org given all the passive aggressive posts that I see on here every time I log on. Lol, a casual observer would think our marketing, supply chain or finance orgs are all hunky-dory (they are not.. sidebar, DTC failed because our supply chain is cr-p but no one says that part out load, remember that whole inventory build up?? Yep.. that’s ALL supply chain).

So…. Tech people, why are you so mad? You all get paid the most at Nike, lol. And have you ever had a leader that you like? Like one?

I think I remember liking Roland. He was part of the Dutch supply chain mafia but at least he was a Nike guy.

Nike Tech is bad? Let's see...
Candidate 1: Intern to Director in 4 years just because everyone else left
Candidate 2: hired 20 years ago as manager from etw position after a christmas party with his direct FTE manager, claims to not being technical and his only job is "feedback"
Candidate 3: Director for 15 years, has no idea how to print a document.
Candidate 4: jumped from support position to manager after few months at the bar with sr director.
Contractors are pushed to innovate and automate. Whenever the contractor wants to change something, they put the foot in the door and block it because "it's not the Nike way" or using other weak excuses to show that they're in control.
These are the people Tech is working with. 90% talk 10% act. Never speak down, always speak up.

@bsh+1w1pe2fx Sure DSM owns part of it, won’t deny it but a really strong supply chain provides the type of signaling that allows you to get that feedback upstream ASAP. Our supply chain signal is the employee store, lol… wanna how to tell when we messed up a buy, look what is showing up unexpectedly in the employee store.

I’m in tech and I’m not mad. I make more money than most at the company, have lots of catered meetings, have some travel, get a great yearly bonus, and make everyone else’s jobs easier so you have more time to come on here to complain. Stay mad. Oh, and we don’t need fancy college degrees like those of us making shoes no one wants to buy.
