Several states are already without any available I.C.U. beds once again. It's only a matter of weeks before a new wave hits us full force. It makes no sense to get people back just to tell them again in a few weeks to go back to WFH. I think we'll be getting an announcement about this issue soon.

Not everyone is eating in restaurants and flying. Not everyone can get the vaccine. Working for 8 hours is different than choosing to go out recreationally.

I get emails every week that people in my office tested positive, even though no one is supposed to be in the office. So what happens when they all come back?

Talk to those in the labs doing the Covid tests, they test whether or not the sample has the virus. Unless they use gene sequencing, they can't tell if it is the Delta variant. But 'Delta' is all you hear on every news channel. Something is amiss.
This begs the question. Will WF layoff more even though not back to the office?
They will start the RTO process and within 30 days, there will be a couple of people test positive in a building, then another building, and we will be back at home again until after Jan 1, 2022
My prediction: in mid August, they will announce that the September and October RTO phases are being delayed by one month. And then we will be back to the monthly updates until we are all clear.

You're not spending 8+ hours at a restaurant or shopping area like you would in an office. It's a bit different.

@gwi, no. There is no excuse. You can catch Covid just as much from being in a restaurant, shopping area, baseball fields, travel, you name it. There is no difference. Everyone is doing the leisurely fun things but they have an excuse about rto.
If you're that paranoid, become a hermit, but don't make excuses.

That's a lot of special accommodations they will need to make. More infected people means more chances of disabilities.
@bdu - The difference though is that you’re in a restaurant 1 hr as opposed to being in an office for 8-10 hrs…potential exposure rate goes up…

Probably management feels if you can board a plane, and eat in a restaurant you shouldn't be afraid to be in the office.
It’s no coincidence MAJOR employers all have similar return to work timeline. Politicians and CEOs are all looking out for their pocketbooks, not the people. Now, we’ll see if any of them take the first stand in doing the right thing here, although my faith deteriorates by the day.
I personally do not think the virus is running rampant almost everyone has had CV or had the poke. Call any testing site in any city about D variant testing and they will tell you it isn’t available. The only 3 people I know who were hospitalized from CV were stuck POST VAX … 2 are dead within 1 week of vax and my other friend who survived all the blood clots is now in a nursing home. I don’t trust or believe anything the “government” tells us about any of it. They just officially pulled PCR testing because the creator of the test has been saying it doesn’t work for virus detection for over a year.

It's the government pressuring the executives to get people back to the office to bo-m the economy.
The economy cannot thrive with everyone home. Charlie can't control that. He's pressured just like every banking ceo is to bring everyone back in.

Where I live, the virus is running rampant so they stopped reporting the numbers to the CDC. I'm not sure there is any data out there that is reliable. Way to many people with their own agendas.
They are hedging, but it will be delayed.
