Thread regarding USAA layoffs

More Lies and Layoffs

In a meeting about three weeks ago the president said ways of working was paused and said restructuring will start back up for phase 3 but there will be no layoffs. Well guess what happened today? If they could only be honest.

@b6 absolutely! OmniChannel, AML, and Fraud are in their line of sight to go through “simplification”. There’s lots of chatter from developers about projects “ready for implementation” forecasted to replace and eliminate those positions.

@d9 I am glad his approach has been effective for you. However, we lack a clear roadmap and measurable metrics to track progress. To clarify, I am requesting an independent third-party assessment instead of relying on previous metrics from Stu or Wayne. I personally think our members deserve transparency.

Frequent organizational changes have made USAA’s structure difficult to define, with new initiatives often implemented before results are fully evaluated. When metrics decline, even slightly, USAA tends to respond by hiring consultants, which can sometimes create additional challenges. Furthermore, discontinuing net income disclosures reduces transparency. There are several possible reasons for this change.

I have also seen valued colleagues leave unexpectedly, and there is ongoing uncertainty about basic operations. If recent changes, such as the $3 billion giveback to 14 million members, are effective, it is unclear why rates continue to rise and issues persist within the bank. If these concerns are not addressed, it may indicate a lack of accountability. Positive change occurs when leadership communicates direction clearly. Many leaders excel at this and are highly engaging. If a different communication style works for you, I am glad. Personally, I prefer energetic, transparent leaders who inspire hope rather than despair.

In general the leadership & culture rotten to the core / corrupted. No idea where is this coming from. One of the worst work culture i have seen. people are passive / aggressive, entitled, leaders keep on making biased & short sighted decisions in name of meeting financial targets plus under performance. Genuinely sad state of work culture...

I've witnessed many speakers, but never a CEO with such an astonishing ability to drain the energy from an entire room. His monotone delivery, devoid of passion or intellect, turns every speech into a tedious recitation from his ever-present binder. Instead of inspiring confidence, he reduces the role to a caricature of mediocrity, an unforgettable lesson in how not to lead. (Yawn)

Well the bank is not back. The back end of it is rediculous and falling apart.

Sars are being filed because of stupid reasons, 20% of members have no identification uploaded or no kyc info, memebers, especially higher up military sre treated like royalty and can get away with anything, and msrs are getting verbally abused or threstened for asking simple questions…

I don’t know how most of you cannot see through. The guy is a clear fake and lie. Or may be the guy is bipolar. Either way, he is not true in context of caring about people and building people. The outcome is layoffs and layoffs. USAA in general has given up on its people and it’s a sad state of some of the leaders at top

The lies didn’t start last year, they started from the word go. USAA has always been to arrogant to admit they had problems that needed to be fixed. In the interim a lot of great members and employees were sacrificed at the alter of the organizations hubris

They've been lying to everyone for the past year and a half. USAA's core values, beliefs, and mission became obsolete the moment Juan became the CEO. One could even argue that the culture started to tank under Wayne's reign.

It was expected. Many people were in SLOD to work on the consent order. When the consent order was no longer a problem…the over abundance of bodies was apparent. More to come in Q4. They aren’t done! Omnichannel, they're looking at you!

Consider the impact if a CEO spent several months at a service academy, experiencing the discipline and code of honor that define military life. This environment highlights the importance of integrity and demonstrates how even a single breach of trust can affect an entire organization.

To be clear, truth requires honesty. This fundamental principle should be self-evident. But, obviously, it is not.

If you are not transparent with your employees, you fail both the team and the members you serve. Upholding trust and safety requires consistent honesty something that is rare at USAA.
