Thread regarding Optum layoffs

New 401k match

How does it feel to see the first one hit the account? Between this and the new tax for paid leave in MN we are making less than last year as they tighten the sc--ws and ask for more from us. Time for a new job.

@d8 you already were working at home. You lost 1%. You are playing 3 card Monte in a back alley and SH is the dealer.

@cx Buddy that's not my salary. That's a fringe benefit which was already below average. I work from home too so think about all the real salary I've been saving.... it's much more than the meaningless 1 percent you're so upset about.

It's a two tiered system. I'm playing chess and you're playing checkers.

@bm Mo--n, your salary was just cut and you do not care? You should be fired from your job for financial negligence and Incompetence.

@cj google Mn paid FLMA 2026. Everyone must pay even if you already have FLMA through your company. So now Mn UHG employees have 2 FLMA programs to get paid through. But we are paying for it, forced by our state law. A forced benefit we never asked for. But the governor touts how awesome that he is providing this benefit. No sir, we are.

@c6 i have not heard about this one. How is the company requiring employees to pay for others FMLA days?

Minnesota requiring all employees to pay for others to get FLMA is so typical nanny state. Day 1 and the state already has 12,000 applications. Just sit back and watch the fraud on this one. And what we are forced to pay will continue to go up every year. Minnesota is the joke of the US. Sickening.

@bm Many people missed the 12/9/2025 email with the misleadingly benign subject of "Updates to the 401(k) Savings Plan." But plenty of us are smart enough to understand that a 1% cut in the 401K match is effectively a 1% cut in pay.

I can't blame Optum for the MN leave deductions, but the 1% pay cut (reduced 401K match) is hard to stomach.

At least the fat cats send us "Gratitude" emails every couple of weeks.

And those "Bravo!" awards are being handed out like candy now that they have no value.
