Is this a sign we’re among the closing stores? We haven’t been told anything yet, but this has me shaken.

@bf I looked at a report last week. As a whole, the company was getting more orders than forecasted
@jg
Some stores may have been notified months ahead but other stores like mine were notified one week before liquidation started. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same thing this year.
@j9 What store? Due to the cr-ppy mall, it can switch between ownership and that has been a precaution to many others who oversaw the list. While many are profitable, lease is a big deal in many of the stores closing.
@bn
Last year was an aberration, stores were notified months ahead. This year is back to norm. There will be 12-15 doors announced next Weds/Thurs. nothing happens until then.
Anyone talking more than that is reading old news and doesn’t know what they are talking about.
@j9 They’ve set the system up to prioritize your location with more picks to move through more of your merchandise prior to the liquidators taking over. Prepare for news soon.
@bf we were supposed to have 100 picks today and we have 236. We were on the original list when they first announced but we've been told not to worry because our store is profitable but we're in a cr-ppy mall.
dont worry if the store closes you can get unemployment
@c3
Oh boy. I'm sorry to hear that for you. That's totally what happened to me last year and it really stood out to me because it was so abnormal from previous years. You might want to prepare yourself for an announcement next week. :(
Fulfilment colleague here, yes we were slam with hundreds of orders after Christmas. This never happen before, we were overwhelmed with alot of picks.
@bk
Just want to say that even though I didn't know who they were at the time I personally saw liquidators getting a tour of the stockrooms at least a week before the announcement last January. So that is complete BS that nothing closure related happens before the announcement.
@ab
This is completely wrong. If you have activity in your store, that’s a GOOD thing. Anything to do with closure, NEVER happens pre announcement. There are only 12-15 closures to be announced next week.
Do you know anybody in fulfillment? Are they still getting slammed with orders in the hundreds and hundreds even though Christmas is over? That's how I knew something was up before my store closed earlier this year. They were trying to sell off more inventory online before it got sold off to liquidators at a loss.
If there are any people who are in your store measuring front of the house and stock rooms, also counting fixtures, then assume it is for a buyer or closing.
previous post had a supposed list of closing stores https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1kdrtx158
What location? My ex-coworker moved and now had the same issue at their store. Im assuming it may close, but the location would help.
