@dx Agreed. If there was an ongoing mass layoff the Oracle page would be abuzz with reports, as opposed to the "my roommate's cousin's brother in law's step dad was laid off" reports we get here.
That said, I have no doubt they are coming, but it isn't now.
@dr Slack numbers are a cold fact (unlike anonymous board speculations) and they show there is no mass layoff in progress right now, at least not in regions with immediate disconnect like NA and IDC.
Sure, a small layoff may be ongoing in OCI right now, same as a regular trickle layoff happening since end of March across the whole Oracle and which never stopped, but there is nothing big, not yet.
@da It's not BS. I personally know 3 people in OCI who got laid off. Don't rely so much on Slack numbers - who's to say they don't control those behind the scenes (when they get updated, etc).

@bj Buddy, this is a public forum. No one will write the exact names. Respect people's privacy. As for remembering them, you don't need to. Go to top most person in OCI hierarchy -> org summaries -> filter by location and career level. Finding out people with these initials isn't that hard. Once you find UT, few of their directs are also gone which is easier to check. These are actual deactivated accounts and not "heard from x, y, z" to call it fake news. You can choose to keep your head in the sand if you like.
@a3 who are they. None in direct or second line of reportee has those initials. Some random employee?
Fake news. Who remembers GVP in such big org as UT or MR
It never really ended... people have been leaving on their own and some involuntarily for the past couple of years. They just have an occasional spikes where 10-20K get let go in a short period of time. This will continue for the next few years at least.
Confirmed that few accounts got deactivated. All VP level people.
