Thread regarding SAP layoffs

AI first question mark

The roadmap for Joule functionality is mind blowingly slow. So many in SAP seem happy to plug in third party solutions. Meanwhile our UX problems show no sign of being addressed. Tough times ahead.

@nb Sorry. I forgot that SAP employs so many of them.

@n6 Not the best of analogies, we can do better than using phrases like “Slow kids”.

I always laugh when SAP talks about AI. It is like a bunch of slow kids trying to fit in by talking about what the cool kids are doing.

Don‘t worry. You have a great board.

Trust the board!

Yet, we are constantly being told that cuts are coming. When Dev resources are stretched and BTP has become a nightmare. Customers have told us that our AI capabilities are lagging behind competitors. Endless org changes means nothing gets done and BTP lags in time-to-market releases. Tough times ahead indeed when the board can now only afford to grow stock prices by cutting headcounts. You know this is the death of big tech.

@bj Only 12 managers? At one point, I had 3 managers per year.

@bj a rather perfect summary clown show executives acting like snake oil sales men demanding endless rounds of feedback to validate their nonsense but not wanting to confront reality.

@OP Just another product to sell to our clients and the internal transformation causes much disruption for our employees. They integrated Joule and I had to triple check everything for efficiency.

More waste of time.

What is the alternative? You endure the change of operations and try to handle your disappointments and health.

I reported to twelve managers in 15 years and it appears. I am not the only person that goes through this.

Just go with the flow. Eliminate the noise and the marketing of " Top Company" shenanigans and you will be fine.

Most employees are just burnt out from all this change. Unfortunate but the truth.

Rest, keep well and onward with the change.

BTP and 100s of product Standards/TGs are the main obstacle. Using hyperscaler directly or frontier LLM Apis , you can build a simple agent in less than an hour. Using BTP, ist takes a week to setup including Troubleshooting and trying to figure out what you need to do. After spending additional months on ps/tg you might be ready to build your agent. Ist su-ks, but seems normal in sap

Who in his or her right mind would use a halluszinating stochastic parrot in a business setting?

This bubble will burst soon.
