Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is anybody else really tired of seeing the wrong people getting promoted?

The kiss-as--s, the sycophants, those with relatives and friends in high positions... Skill and experience need not apply. Wells Fargo was never the best place to work, but it was certainly better when we had some chance of progressing our career based on merit. We're nothing but a joke now.

Who aspires to climb this corporate ladder ? I think Jacob would realize this is the ladder that leads to a different place - it may look like it goes up, but things go sideways quickly.

Almost like stuffing a toilet bowl with a lot of paper and $h!+ and trying to flush it - it only swirls around infinitely and smells worse each and every day.

I’m tired of seeing the wrong people in general getting hired here. This company is garbage now. Look around at your coworkers and prove me wrong. I’ll wait :)

You must be new here. A job application requires the same amount of energy you used to make this post.

Promote? That doesn't happen here, they hire exclusively externally from the the flavor du jour.

@bf You certainly hit the nail on the head with your GENZ and all the other GENS absolutely ruining not only workplaces but just look at what they are doing to NYC, LA, Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle just to name a few used to be great cities. Hey it's their time and what a mess they made.

Easiest way to get promoted in my area is to schedule a lot of meetings. Managers love you because they think you are adding value, while workers despise you because they know you aren't.

Upward mobility is required in order for promotions to occur. Neither of these things exist at WF

There really aren’t promotions anymore due to the target operating model. If the role isn’t on that, your only route to getting promoted is for someone who has the title you want, to leave.

Well, it looks like the first response completely confirms the original post (Scharfie, is that you ?). I guess I must give the first responder credit as the following statement tells you all you need to read - - - - Wells Fargo was never the best place to work......understatement of the year. We all know the classic story about the mirror on the wall, don't we ?

@OP Bold statement, totally untrue:

Wells Fargo was never the best place to work

I worked there for many years, did my job, had no gripes, issues, or problems and rose steadily in job and title advancement, salary increases, bonus awards etc.
If you want to call those getting promoted the "wrong people" I suggest you look in the mirror and place the blame right where it belongs. On you!

Start taking responsibility for what you do on the job and not worry about anyone else!
