Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Stay away from HR

HR isn’t there for employees, no matter what they claim. They exist to protect the company. Learned that the hard way after reporting an issue and getting sidelined. Don't make the same stupid mistake I did.

Nike HR is full of failed parents projecting resentment into the job. They’ve sure made it easy for workplace attorneys, my god.

We in HR are your friends, trust us (not). On the other hand Those ER guys/gals shouldn’t be trusted

If I had something worth taking to HR, I take it to a lawyer first.

I would say it depends on who your HR person is. I’ve been lucky to have some really great support as both an employee and also managing people over my years but I’ve heard similar horror stories from others in various parts of the company.

Exactly. HR is never FOR the employees. Everyone should learn and know this.

I hear people, all the time, say, "I'm going to take this to HR." Wrong. Don't be silly, they'll stand with your manager even if he's the one with the g-n.
