Discussing a potential offer with a recruiter for a 3 days in office role. It is in Dallas. Can this role eventually become 5 days ? That’s a deal breaker.

As with everything SBC/ATT management: rules are there. They say 5 days a week but it’s all over the place. Could be it will be 3 days but know what the Golden Rule is here: The company will always change the rules with 95% of the change to the detriment of the employee base. I don’t know any organizations that are still 3 days and I had to retire from my position to get out of a 5 day commute out of state. I was a top performer, senior level, dealing with a personal hardship at the time and let me tell you THEY DON’T CARE. Getting it in writing won’t help either. Policy is policy and policy is 5x8 with hours tracking.
It is possible to be moved up to 5 days. I know several people originally hired on as part-time who were then able to move up to full-time positions.

Consider it broken. Even roles that were remote for 15 years or more, or traveling roles were told they had to be in office. Unless you can get the offer in writing signed by AT&T HR that says fully remote forever, they can and will change it any time they like.

My co-worker just hired in from another company. Her contract said 3-5 days in office but she is required 5 days in the office just like everyone else.
