Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Laid off a few weeks ago, still no job

Trying to stay calm, but the timing couldn’t be worse. My wife’s pregnant and the bills are piling up. I was loyal, always went above and beyond. Getting laid off felt like a slap in the face. It’s clear now as it has ever been, this place never cared about its people.

I worked my a** off at Optum. Trained team members, took on special projects with crazy deadlines. You find out you end up with most of the work when you give too much. Got laid off in 2023 still no job. Scams across all job boards. Now it’s even worse.

@f8 I don't know about immediate leadership being incredible. Most are just out for themselves. Good luck on your job search its not easy out there.❤️

I got laid off in April and two weeks later returned to UHC in a different position. Now last Friday I was told come September my job will be gone. It's easier to get a job internally than externally so I'm back at it. Co workers and immediate leadership, those you work with on a daily basis are pretty incredible. It's the senior leaders Careless, callous, and borderline illegal actions. When the first layoffs happened, thats where they should have cleaned house first. Let the captains go down with the ship

@OP Realistically, your job search will take more time than you desire. Please choose joy and gratitude, no matter how anxious you feel. Focus on job search and networking about 20 hours per week and the other 20 hours, do whatever brings you some calm and peace. I’ve been through this a couple of times and I did end up in a better place. Hard to claim that now but please do try. I’m rooting for you!!!

Fingers crossed that something comes along soon. Try to focus on the upcoming little one.
(I know. Easier said than done.)

I took the VRSP and do not regret it! I sleep better, more soundly. It's a shame that the company can't get their 💩 together. They're losing a lot of really good workers.

I'm hoping to have a job offer this month... it's getting to be slim picking. The amount of scam job postings is relentless!!!!

Question...have they asked for any equipment back? (I still have everything and no requests to send back.)

So sorry. I hope something will come along quickly. Just know you are not alone, finding a new job takes longer that many realize. Wishing you the best.

@OP God bless you. I'm in the same boat and it has been a few monthes for me. Don't pay attention to the trolls on this site with their derogatory remarks. Praying for you.
