Is off cycle progression still possible?

@bw have read that article, how can you be sure it's from a SAP employee?
How hard is it for managers to get the off cycle progression approved? I heard it’s pretty hard and goes up until L1?
@mr "Contributing" at SAP means kissing your bosses a-s and vomiting out buzzwords and phrases that you barely understand. It's a great way to get by if you have no self respect but this is bad advice for those of us who know our worth and actually want to do something meaningful.
If you want to make progress, you have to be positive and you must not complain or gossip.
Spend less time here and more time contributing, and you will progress. Simple, really.
One thing for sure, if you don't have a plan that includes reasons and lobbying for what you want, you'll never get it.
Off cycle promotion can also happen naturally because you get assigned a higher position : for example someone left the company and you get his position. (Suppose you're T3 and the person who left is a T4)
It's not always because you're friend of a Manager
The woman who got Juergen Mueller fired got three off-cycle promotions in five years. How do you think she got them?
@b0 or you follow through and leave, and your disloyalty is rewarded when you return. Insanity.
Off cycle progression is possible if you can convince Chuck to support it.
SAP employee posted this on reddit not too long ago. The technical lead in question benefited from off-cycle progression because he was a buddy to someone in management.

Off cycle was a s-x for money scheme that our executives got rid of
Off-cycles only existed to give an additional salary boost to friends and family. Your friendly manager gave a huge salary hike in March, they then did an off-cycle promotion and then gave another huge salary hike in March. Many employees easily got 15% or more in less than two years using this hack. In the latest Works agreement, the employer removed off-cycle stating that they want to discuss it more. The new hack replacing this is the “I quit” hack. An employee gets a higher salary offer from another company. It doesn’t need to be a competitor - it fan also be a company used by your uncle to save taxes. The employer recommends to HR that they wish to increase the report’s salary by 15% to match the salary they would get if they leave. They explicitly mention that the report’s work is crucial for SAP and they should be retained. And bo-m! Just like that, the employee gets a 15% hike in a year rather than waiting two years.
If you’re not part of the big boys club, then don’t even bother listening to the lies your manager spews regarding this. Off-cycles are given solely based on Friendships and if you do something for your manager in return. I have been with SAP since many years but am yet to see an off-cycle that was given to a candidate who genuinely deserved a promotion.
