Sure, but Google also blocked searches for Freedom, Capitalism and Tiennamon square for over 25 years. I’d personally trust Covid over totalitarian Google any day of the week.

It would be quite the mistake to allow Covid to do their displacements for them. With the science in, HR and facilities are certainly aware that the open collaboration spaces are nothing but Covid incubation farms. While Covid may laugh at the old style high walled cubicles, it positively feasts in the collaboration spaces.

HR and facilities absolutely have to know this. Failing to manage this rationally would would lead to scandals which dwarf out highly checkered history of corruption and scandal.

Last stand for the Stagecoach I think…

Google. EEOC says an employer can require it. HIPAA doesn’t apply the way people think it does. Will WF require it? Probably not, but it’s not a hill I’d choose to die on. People have gotten let go for less.

If your company wants people to go back to work and your refusing to get vaccinated will create problem for them they will send you packing. What make you think they will put up with your selfishness and stupidity? They don’t have to keep you. With that kind of attitudes who wants to have you around?

Please point out in my post where I say I’m an authority, I do follow CDC guidelines. And I’m sick of the selfish people who are unable to be considerate of the rest of the population. I can’t make you get a vaccine, but WFC can make it a stipulation for you to keep your job. Or another idea is to make you wear a big sign every day saying you have not been vaccinated. That way, the rest of us can refuse to sit next to you, attend a meeting with you, and make you wait until everyone else has used the elevator. I have a right to not be exposed to you every day.

If you want to walk through the front door of a WFC facility and collect a paycheck: get a vaccine. If you don’t, go get a call center job and work in your basement.

You want wear mask? Please do by all means. You can wear 3 masks at once, if you feel safer. You want to get a flu shot, again, go ahead do it. At the same time, stay away from making decisions for other people. They also are able to make decisions for themselves and you are not an authority of any kind.

I do hope WFC mandates vaccines for anyone who is required to come in to the office.

You think your rights are being violated? You have the right to go stand in the unemployment line without your mask and without your vaccine.

No need to worry about a talent-drain: any responsible person with half a brain will get a vaccine.

It will take some innovative ideas, which this management team is sorely lacking. They prefer the failed policies that Chase tried and took a while to recover from.

So, if a third of the public won't get vaccinated, how do we stop outbreaks or community spread?

People are too selfish to get out of their own way - how exactly do you solve for that? Someone will pull the pin at some stage and just say it's over so come back or leave.

@1gpq It ends when the rate of new infections is low enough that resuming non-mask indoor activities isn't going to result in outbreaks and community spread. The reasoning behind this is not difficult or unclear. Pretending otherwise simply shows willful ignorance.

I don't disagree with you when when does it end? I know plenty of people that flat out refuse to get vaccinated. I think they're selfish but unless companies mandate vaccination (if you're fully vaccinated, you can come into the office, if not we'll switch you to being a contractor and you can work remotely with no bennies), this will never end.

I can't even begin to imagine how you make a policy around this. I guess we'll see soon enough.

I wear glasses along with 4 of my family members and that includes our Kindergartener who wears a mask every day to school. I am fully vaccinated too., but until everyone gets Vaccinated we still can get sick with it or variants.. Wells will Not mandate vaccines so you could get it or give it to kids or grandchildren as a carrier. I Don't want to go back and sit next to someone who is not Vaccinated and gets sick won't wear a mask then give it to my Grandchildren. Which until they are Vaccinated they are at risk. NO I Don't want to wear a mask forever either but if it means I will protect myself and my family I will for as long as we need to wear one.

I can't see with a mask on because my glasses fog up. After a year of social distancing and staying home, now that I'm fully vaccinated, I don't plan on wearing a mask for the rest of my life.

For the person complaining about not thinking they can wear a mask all day , Really if we have to back to the office be fo-e this is Totally gone we should be wearing masks. I have a daughter who is a Nurse she wears hears 12 to 14 hours a day . I have Granddaughters who wears masks everyday all day and they are Kindergarten to 3rd grade so if they send us back suck it up. Wear it and wear it the right way for you and others.

@vpz+1aIO5HLL Does being assigned a "Special Project" mean one step closer to the door?

I am not sure that I could stand wearing a mask all day in the office while trying to work. Harder to breathe with the mask on, it is also distracting to have it on. Glasses fog, etc.

A lot of comments here are related to roles that have been work from home, and people that have been with WF for several years in those roles. Be aware. WF has 'special projects' that allows management too dislodge you from your group, regardless of how long you've been on the team. You will be 'volunteered' to help out, based on your 'special skillset', i.e., you know how to perform data entry. You will be told your job may or may not be available after the project is complete. If it's no longer available, you have to post for other positions. Positions that require that you are located in a hub. If you are not currently living in a hub, your application will be passed over, at which time, you will receive your separation package. CS, SVB and MN want people working in an office, regardless of where the team is located. Your tenure won't mean anything when you are assigned to a special project.

If whining means they are tired of no concrete plan EVER from highly paid management that I don’t know, affects the livelihood of everyone in the company but them, then I would say that is true.

@czm. As soon as the corporate lawyers tell them they can be sued for putting employees at risk, and you know they will be if people get COVID because of their insanity (and many others in the employee ranks), it will be mandatory.

@czm+1aIO5HLL

In December the EEOC ruled that employers have the right to mandate employees get vaccinated. The COVID vaccine is still considered experimental and doesn't have actual FDA approval, only emergency approval so I was surprised by this. However the actual logistics of Wells mandating and enforcing 250k employees to vaccinate seems unfathomable to be honest.

I saw in Charlie's email that he can't wait to have us back in the new/ modern/ open office spaces and I just shook my head. Have we literally learned nothing? Open office spaces are a breeding ground for germs and viruses to spread, it's also quite difficult to get things done and concentrate as sound carries much further since there are no walls to absorb it, SMH.

As politicized as COVID and the response to it has become, it'll be interesting to see how all this plays out. Will (can?) the company require *employees to provide proof of vaccination and/or wear masks? What about *employees who refuse to vaccinate or are only half vaccinated? What about *employees who outright refuse to wear masks or neglect to wear them properly? How does one quantify the economic and health risks such team members introduce? Also, could *employees successfully sue other *employees and/or the company for not maintaining a safe working environment?

I like thinking about such things. I also like thinking about the new "open office" environment and how, in theory, one *employee could bring in COVID (even unknowingly) and infect everyone nearby, taking an entire team -- all who perform the same job function -- out of commission.

*we're no longer considered "team members"

Wrong. Back to office will depend on your role and LOB. Stop with the misinformation. Jobs that have been remote for 10 years aren't going to suddenly required to work in an office. Some jobs have been in the office the entire time.
