Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

2 week notice

When someone gives their two week notice, do they actually let them stay for that time or force them to leave?

I only recall one person leaving to go external and they were allowed to serve 2 weeks. But wonder if that has changed.

I was a sales agent, and when I gave my two week's notice, I had to beg my Manager to let me stay long enough to say "Goodbye" to my coworkers/friends.

I wasn't leaving on bad terms or anything, and I was really surprised. But they were quick about disabling my logins (I worked remotely), within hours of my notice.

I was disappointed that I didn't at least take photos of my scripts and notes and things. All of that was gone.

Post ID: @az+1jks45qb7- It’s about business needs and how quickly they can get someone to pick up your work. Consultants (Now called Senior professionals) going to competitors are kept as long as it takes to hand off their duties/projects because forbid the director or assistant director has to do actual work! I’m sure it’s different for front line clinicians and admins.

If you’re taking a job with a competitor they often won’t let you serve your 2 weeks notice.

Depends on many factors… definitely not a one size fits all and highly dependent upon business needs.
