Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CES Scores released

Did your team see the data yet? Mine did. I was expecting much worse, but it looks like people generally approve of their supervisors ("Supervisor Leadership" and "Supervisor Follow-through" scored above 80%) while "Workspace Productivity" and "Work Simplification" were sub-60% or so. Everything else was in-between, with "Employee Satisfaction" scoring in the mid-70% range.

As usual, there were no direct questions about ELT performance and there was no historical trend data provided. (The questions change every year anyway, as do the composition of individual teams.)

What was your takeaway from this? Personally, I think the scores were shockingly high and will be used to deny the case for change. On any given metric, Chevron employees are more happy than not.

By now everyone knows the CES isn’t really anonymous, it doesn’t really worth the ink or lack of ink to provide honest feedback about direct supervisors. They should read that one the other way around if results are 80% , then 1-0.8 =0.2 , then you have your real answer

Most everyone knows these results are confidential not anonymous so they just tell them it’s great to avoid being targeted.

@rx I’m all for a good conspiracy theory but two thing:

Chevron isn’t competent enough to administer a survey and show fake results

And these don’t matter that much for them to care to fake results. They have bigger fish to fry.

The numbers are real.

I don't believe any of these scores. They can make up whatever numbers they want. Who can prove them wrong?

Interesting to understand scores by geography. US scores appear to be low but overall score is skewed up…

@at have Indian developer develop something and then line management and HR enforce it. AI is a pipe dream

It’s all a ruse anyway. How does a 1-5 score on questionnaire translate to a 1-100 score? They can manipulate it anyway they want.

But yes, my team was among the lowest in the company in some scores (40s).

What exactly will chevron do about simplicity a way too often thrown around word.

Our team’s scores were the lowest anyone with any longevity with the company had ever seen.

My team’s scores were in the toilet. Our manager is probably on a PIP.

The scores are usually pretty good. Nobody has clear line of sight beyond their supervisor.

Back to work everyone!
