Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

New Org / Attack Plan

A new approach was just announced and it is more upper level with less to do the work. So, the new execs and C-Levels must still have friends they needed to bring with them.

It was asked why so many who actually did work and were great employees were let go - but no answer given. Probably because there is no good answer. The general feeling is they are retaining people who don't question why so much time is wasted, so many useless layers of "management", and/or do little to nothing. They don't want people who want to deliver and help customers - they want to bark orders and people who put their heads down and avoid conflict!

I am not sure where the Humana Board is - but how are they bringing in people with no proven experience at such high levels and letting them bring down the organization?

Crazy, Crazy!!

@1hk BHCM aren’t required to go into the field. Assessments can be taken over the phone. Leaders doing the same job. Multiple changes of job duties by under qualified. No success rate.

Our Health Insurance system as well as our Healthcare system need a major overhaul. It is simply not directed in a way for working and advocating for whom it was originally intended.

In the past, I have sought to go have the public relations aspect to see about affecting change, which was probably very naive on my part. I now see the vanity in those efforts.

So, this time, I am going to try another path. Although, there is a separation between church and state, many a church-going folks are voters and are on Medicare or approaching.

Therefore, I am going to seek to start a movement, starting with my own church and hopefully extending to all Louisville and Kentucky extended churches, to get the word out as to the issues and what they can do in regards to applying civil pressure to the Louisville mayor, extended city and town mayors, and Ky state governor to have them apply pressure to Humana to change says abruptly, starting with executives taking a major pay reduction as well as pressuring them to have a higher percentage of acceptance rate of catastrophic claims.

Hopefully my many years of past experience in health insurance will assist me in leading this, what I hope will become a, movement.

Change is needed and brave people need to lead. And needs to be done in a legal, civilized and peaceful manner (only).

@1c9 No offense to you personally, but who really cares about Humana’s profitability. They are now a lousy company of which the majority of their employees are fully aware. Unfortunately, their members have not yet caught on.

Humana has done much harm to really good employees that they have pushed out, causing personal harm to them and also affecting potential generational wealth and financial stability and healthcare stability.

Humana continues to take government tax payer dollars earmarked for members on Medicare and have on many cases chosen to delay and deny medical claims for catastrophic treatments. All the while, the executives being paid in millions.

I used to have a lot of respect for Humana and really respected the mission of the founders. But the changes that have occurred within the last 7 years, and even more so the last 3 years, has caused me to lose all respect in this sorry excuse for a company.

@at however : Humana's GAAP Net Income (FY 2025): ~$1.188 billion
This represented a ~1.6% year-over-year decline compared with 2024
Humana remained profitable for the full year despite:

A significant net loss in Q4 2025 driven by higher medical costs
Ongoing Medicare Advantage margin pressure
Elevated benefit ratios late in the year

Humana’s strong Q1 and Q2 performance offset losses later in the year, allowing the company to finish CY2025 solidly profitable overall.

@at Everyone gets that new people will bring change - the problem is they are bringing in sub-par folks who have not done well in previous roles. The new guys are horrible and haven't done anything for 2 years and counting, - yet they keep bringing in more "friends" at really high salaries and work is not getting done. They will make a nice salary for a few years and leave the place in worse shape than it was when they joined.

If they brought in people with real experience and who could actually make a change, I think people would believe there was going to be a possibility to become profitable again.

@at Yeah right. They are continuing to post exec jobs, saving those that are loyalists to a SVP, etc. You are delusional.

You’re missing the point and may need to learn more about business acumen. They are bringing in people to “make hard decisions” and turn the company around to make profit. The government isn’t paying us enough due to Stars so they have to perform for the board. The board and the shareholders want a return.
