What a disappointing but expected message from Jim. Not only RIFs but changes to benefits. Of course, no details, just the warning.

@g4 im betting we work under the same director!!!!! Her zoom filter went off one day and she has a face like a prune.
@ap Yep. This is a President and administration that goes out of it's way to punish corporations that outsource American jobs. They are risking their MA contract. They must not be paying attention., or think they're untouchable.
I don’t think the benefit cuts were a warning in that email. Sounded more like a promise to me.
@ea and marketing and IT
@at no one is going to flail about (whatever than means) without the directors and managers for CW. We know our work and they are just in the way. I'm on my way out so I'll just tell it exactly how it is. The director for central is a joke and the sooner she is gone, the better we will all be. She has single handedly ruined our team. The comment that described her face looking like a ball sack was seen by several coworkers but I can't find it on here. I'll agree except ball sacks have more intelligence. So, IT guys, come at me bro, I'll be gone by the time you find me. Ive had 3 interviews with companies that cant be as bad as this one!
@de Shared services are the corporate functions that are centralized but shared across the enterprise - primarily HR and Finance.
@a4 what are shared services
@bt the term "industry standard" is used when they want to s crew you but want you to believe you are still being treated well. Humana is no longer an employer of choice.
@bk Nothing yet, just mentioned benefits changes to be more in line with industry standards. I am sure that means cuts but I hope not.
@ae already is
@OP He didnt mention how much of a cut he was taking did he?
What benefit cuts and where was the idea of benefits cuts shared?
@a6 IT is terrible as it is, I cannot imagine them removing more people. YIKES.
@as Bonus? We had bonuses taken away a few years ago already
Would greatly improve productivity and Humana culture if they simply remove some management levels. Those leaders are creating works for themselves by making good associates' work life miserable, so they're busy managing. Counterproductive!
@aw right, they would be out of the way so we can do work instead of focusing on st-----g their egos!!!
@at no one would even notice their departure!😀
@at you really think anyone will flail about without the directors who are not worth much, especially the one so full of ego and vanity that she has no room for brains? Ya got jokes.
@OP yeah and everything points to cit managers and directors being cut so the teams can flail about with no guidance. Make it make sense.
@aq I am afraid 401k and bonus will be impacted
I bet the benefit changes [cuts/reductions] won't include C-suite perk eliminations.
There always seems to be new and more VPs and Ps coming in the door. What do they all do?
The constant layoff culture is toxic and lacks imagination and creativity. There have to be other options than continuing to render people jobless. Lazy.
The STARS hit was not the result of any decision made by those about to be laid off but they're/we're about to take the hit anyway.
@an 💯!
@a9 This was all planned years ago! Master plan since 2017- first RIF to slim down mid management in the markets, second expand Medicaid despite the tight profit margins, next up consolidate the Medicare markets, dump all commercial, followed by centralization where most UM is completed off shore. Absolute cr-p and guess what? DOJ is coming for you C suite!!
@af Stock up, but we're still at the bottom. Earnings up, but this is just for a quarter, easier to fix short term. Massive RIFs and outsourcing should be coming soon this year.
Numbers are up, stock is up, everything is trending up and yet they want to pull all this BS. Make it make sense!
@ad really, I would expect IT to be outsourced, I hope not
@a6 Yeah not true. They are actually trying to shield most of IT from RIF’s.
@ab Exempt for now
@a7 I've only heard that a large portion of EIP is exempt. IT is much bigger than EIP.
Makes me sick. I’m sitting here thinking about selling my car and the C suite is perusing Zillow to buy their 14th vacation house. Outsourcing more. Healthcare is so broken (breaking news, I know).
In over 25 years, I have never been as worried as I have since project growth. I know this is a business but the decisions/actions of management over the last 5+ years is why we are where we are now.
@a7 maybe it's just the domestic contractors. i was wondering the same.
@a6 I would not doubt this but why is most of IT exempt from early retirement if they will be RIFed in the near future?
What I've heard is that massive portions of IT are going to be laid off except for a few key positions. Otherwise all IT are getting the boot including domestic contractors. Hope it isn't true because it sounds outrageous.
More outsourcing, a new operating model, larger reorganizations, reduced benefits......the writing is on the wall.
More RIFs coming and outsourcing of some of the shared services.
