Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Fiber Chief Network Officer LinkedIn

So a nearly 3 decade long legacy exec gets a new job, brags about it on LinkedIn during the holidays when 13k people have been laid off, and makes the same best network talking point that customers clearly don’t believe anymore - and we’re supposed to believe it will get better? Of course the usual yes people are all over it saying congratulations. What a toxic leadership culture. A post like that should be disqualifying for leadership if Dan actually wants to make change.

Verizon Fiber strategy is to aquire frontier fiber assets then sell off again and then buy back in 5 years. No
Logic other than that's what the circa 2001 PowerPoint deck said to do as recycling of strategies by recycle executives by recycling BOD

Can't speak on LC wireless resukts but Fiber/Fios in better shape having her run it versus VzW Strayer Retail Store Executives. Challenge will be many DEI Directors in organization and powerpoints versys execution on results a huge hill to climb. But LC best DEI option.

@as
I saw it too. It was almost brutal to see someone would post something like that on Linkedin just after 13K layoffs and right before Christmas. Unbelievable! While she is celebrating her good news, those who were just RIFFed are wondering what they are going to do for a job next in a difficult job market, if they will have benefits, and how they are going to pay for this Christmas.

Lake Mary is full of toxicity and leaders bragging about doing the bare minimum. It makes zero sense to have finance in Lake Mary and completely isolated from other parts of the business.

@aq Even still, a legacy leader that is so tone deaf to brag about a new job during a massive layoff is the definition of toxic culture. Dan has his work cut out for him when the legacy leaders that contributed to the downfall remain and continue in their toxic ways. She is one of many.

@OP On the bright side, she started her career in landline & fiber so I assume she has some expertise in her new role something which was sorely lacking in her previous role (wireless).

I strongly suggest people on this forum to watch “Office Space” and make sure you all move your desks to the basement. Take your stapler with you too.

Happy 2026!!!! Skiadas and Sampath (DEI hire) will kick off the clown show shortly.
