Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

How long will layoffs continue?

Any idea? It’s really inconsiderate, to put it mildly, to keep us completely in the dark. We’re all stressed out of our minds, and the only “info” we have comes from each other, half of it nothing but unsubstantiated rumors. Way to leave us with our livelihoods hanging in the balance, while we have no clue what’s really happening.

I was escorted out like if I was a criminal after giving so many years of my life to HAL.
This last gesture by HAL cut deep.

No sure how many more Aberdeen can stand to lose. They've cut to the quick this time. There are jobs getting turned down because they haven't the crews to catch them. The office staff has been gutted from the top down.

I know for sure Aberdeen is not looking too good. Activity levels are low and Q3 hasn’t been great.

I don't know about other industries but this is the nature of layoffs and oil companies, better get used to it unfortunately.

I've heard there is a second round coming in november. I wonder how this will compare to covid layoffs, I can't imagine it getting that bad but from what my sources are saying it's gonna be pretty bad at ~20%

@az HAL has hired people only to lay them off the first day of NEO. You're never safe here.

They haven't even been able to fully calculate the impact of the tariffs. Could more much more to come based off n those numbers and if Q3 looks lost as well.

If 3rd quarter results aren't any better I'm sure more cuts to come in Nov.

From HR insider - HAL isn’t done with the layoffs- not even close. The process is moving slower than leadership intended because there aren’t enough HR reps to handle them all at once—so yeah the following weeks are going to be very tough!
