Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

What are the advantages of working in a larger store location ?

Do the larger locations make bigger team comp ? Is hourly pay better ?

I remember it was a coveted honor to work in a busy location. After the pandemic with team commissions and no accountability why even put in the effort. When you have others to rely on for your well being for commissions is bs. Time to move on and get paid for what your actually worth. Don’t let others discourage you and make the leap I promise you the grass is greener on the other side. FYI if you’re a rep your job is entry level find a entry level job else where at least that values and respects you.

Once a upon of time before the dead head came to take over Verizon, it was an honor to work at a big store I knew reps that’s were making over 4k every month easily .If the dm hated you he would put you in a slow store where there was no money to be made…

Now 2022 working at a big store makes you the same money as working in a small store just x2 the more work and x2 more stresss …

Working for this company in general is a disadvantage. You'll end up with a mental disorder if you stay too long.

Less likely to be closed or gifted to the agents.

Working in a store is a disadvantage. Online has all the advantages. Work there.

You’re going to work a lot more to make the same sh---y pay check. But if you like being overworked you will love it.

@vrj+1hHpaKID I have heard of reps and managers getting in trouble for slamming home protect using the $25 loyalty offer. There are going to be some major changes and warnings revolving around that in the next few months. Keep being shady and watch what’s about to happen.

@aqf+1hHpaKID Nah Brah money is money. Managers don’t gaf about anyone and your replaceable within hours. If you work for a kool aide manager don’t let them bully you around…. that’s how unions form.

It's debatable because not having dookie kool aid drinking managers is priceless. Having ar-e leaders make a horrible job even worse.

@cbc+1hHpaKID I work at a small location that consistently makes 400-500 more per month in team commission then a close by busier store. Over the year that’s about 6K. You are willing to except over 6k less just because of a management team ? LOL

The "commission" here is so dookie already that the marginal difference of a couple hundred dollars is meaningless. I choose the store with the most based management. Same hourly at both small and large stores.

@wex+1hHpaKID All of that makes sense but would you accept making the same or in most cases less then a smaller volume store?

Makes the day go by faster, more customers. Easier to hide from helping customers. Don't have to spend the whole day with just a few customers that you slam while your manager breaths down your neck over your shoulder looking like Vecna from stranger things asking you about home warranties and credit cards. Also more employees so on slow days you get a lot of time to relax while you wait for a customer.

In my district the store with the highest quota makes the least in team commission! No advantage to working in that store.

In my opinion I think if you work in a location that consistently has higher traffic then you should make more money then a smaller location. Unfortunately the quota always reflects the amount of additional business but doesn’t reflect all the extra work put in to getting there.

Advantages? If you call having to work 2-3 times harder then at a smaller location to make the same if not less money an “advantage” I guess that would be one. BTW this was one of the complaints of a store that recently voted to have a union put in.
