Is job security gone for good?

Because it feels like it to me.

Make sure to keep your resume fresh and jot down your work wins. This is super important, especially if you're on a "legacy" product that’s not in the new AI plans.

@am once we believe that computers can empathize with humans it’s game over. So until then, anything requiring human empathy (like being an undertaker) is safe. But since the ELT and board have no empathy for employees, there is no job security.

Job Security (in general) for the entire Tech sector is gone and has been for about 25 years since SW/HW companies began aggressively off-shoring jobs and using less expensive labor around the globe. This was largely done to appease institutional shareholders. If you are early in your career likely you have yet to be impacted.
However, I agree with prior poster..if you work at Open Text you have never had job security..It is a guarantee your name is on a layoff list, they just haven't added your layoff date ...yet.

You're asking that about a company that's never had a quarter without a layoff in the last fifteen years?

You slow, or something?
