Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It’s funny that we’re even discussing loyalty

It’s been gone for so long, I don’t get why it’s still a topic. I guess we all had to pretend for a while, until it stopped being sustainable and no amount of corpo fluff could cover it up anymore. Our workplaces became theaters of cruelty and dehumanization a long time ago. The moment the corporate overlords started calling us “human resources”, it was already over.

"We are discussing loyalty because we don't want to get fired for underperforming."

If "Underperformers" are being kept then that is a problem at the leadership level and it does not matter what people are talking about.

"Loyalty is only for the workers that produce. The lazy lazy malcontents need to look into the mirror at their own loyalty."

If this were only true. Loyalty is built on long-term benefits, not short term gains. ATT has taken away all the long-term benefits that were promised when a significant number of the employee base committed to work for ATT. That is why Stanks myopic plan will drain ATT of the real talent -- the smart and talented will pursue opportunities for immediate gains since there is no reason from a compensation stand point to remain long term with ATT now. He is turning the entire employee base into day traders.

I have unwavering loyalty to one thing. Obtaining the most compensation in return for the least work. Since RTO, I've taken this to new heights with even more room for growth.

The future of active disengagement has never been brighter here at AT&T!

@a7

Yep. As long as the direct deposits keep hitting, I'll be here. I won't be very productive and I'll carry an unapproachable demeanor but I'll be here.

@am

There is NO loyalty. Ask all those that were TOP performers and laid off just for being in the wrong zip code!
