Lost my job as I was replaced by H1B and found out he’s slacking and I’m sure the management is Happy to see my family crippled.
There are about 1 Million active H1Bs in USA per the labor stat's.

@hw The HR person I’ve worked with so far has actually been very supportive and encouraged me to speak up. The only thing is, they’re not technically my HR rep, and I know the quality of HR can vary a lot depending on who you get.
Just wondering what others have seen, does HR usually help, or does it end up being brushed off?

@ey People are attacked for who they are, for things they can’t control, and for simply existing. Trying to minimize or redirect that reality doesn’t erase it. If we’re going to have an honest discussion, pretending racism is somehow being misapplied isn’t it.

Ford Motor is like that corrupt villain from that one episode of SWAT where Hondo takes a break from the force and ends up on a quiet farm in Mexico. Some rich thug starts pressuring his neighbor there, the Reyes family, to sell their land, a lowball of plata (silver) at first... of course.
But the land isn’t just property.
It’s their home, their heritage, their livelihood. Accepting the abuse means losing a part of themselves under false pretenses.
When the family refuses, the thug escalates. Threatening them, scaring off their workers, and eventually kidnapping the daughter just to force the sale. And when Hondo tries to help, they arrest him!!! Turns out the whole system is in the villain’s pocket, police included. The local cops turn a blind eye because they’re either scared or bought off.
The thug owns property, influences local law enforcement, and exerts fear over the townspeople. Even though Hondo came to Mexico just to stay out of trouble and mind his own business, his moral code and sense of justice pull him in.
That’s why the thug offers to drop charges against Hondo if he convinces the Reyes family to sell. It’s pure coercion, turning your allies into co-conspirators.
Thank goodness it’s Hondo though! He has honor and wouldn’t lure anyone like the original version of Little Red Riding Hood. This is more like the Grimms’ version, where Hondo is the huntsman who does the right thing.

A lot of H1B’s have fake degrees. After being laid-off, and not finding an equivalent new job, many H1B’s never leave the US after 60 days. They hire crooked attorneys, most who are foreign born to produce fake paperwork showing the H1B found a new job, when they really haven’t. There is a whole cottage industry of these scam artists POS Attorneys.

@a9 What do you mean 2 years? Once H1B get laid off they have to find another job within 60 days else have to leave USA. And talking about H1Bs having a difficult time finding a job these past 2 years, how about concerning yourself with Americans and American college grads and Americans over 50 having a hard time finding a job since 1990 when H1Bs were allowed in this country thanks to REPUBLICAN President who started this whole mess. The H-1B visa program was launched in 1990, when President George H.W. Bush signed the "Immigration Act of 1990."
