I was let go last year and ended up at a much smaller company. The work fits my skills, the pay is a little less, but the people are great and management actually cares. Who knows if it lasts. Still, I'm just glad to be free of the torturous layoff cycles at Nike with no end in sight. So don't lose hope. There are other jobs out there. They might not all pay more, but they could offer something better - peace and a fresh perspective.

@aj layoffs happen, but every year and the poor execution, leaving people wondering for months, years, and laying off the actual good workers and keeping the worthless slackers
and don't forget that decision are made at the hr/vp level
pretty sure that is solely nike in all their brilliant glory
Every job I've had since the 2008 financial crisis I've had threats of layoffs every year or two. It's not remotely a Nike only thing.
the constant layoff fear is no way to live, not for anyone, and can't even put a price on it, simply not worth it at any level
