Just heard from my brother in law that the new extension being talked about includes a huge pay increase .The downside is the inside reps jobs are looking to be outsourced .Im not sure how we feel I’m kinda like told ya so when they all wanted to be from comfort of their homes .I mean while we have to travel to garage locations spend tons of gas possibly bad weather taking more more sick days we barely get.Calling into people who by being home can have their job farmed out to anywhere in world there is internet and phones.I believe this time around it’s all gonna be about the outsourcing and contracting

Huge increase coming to the people who report to work in person. Work from home will get zero. Reason is working from home saves you hundreds on commuting and eating out - sometimes thousands. Now it’s time for those who have been coming in physically for the last 5 years to be rewarded

I’m not sure anyone has said they would or wouldn’t be supportive of what it would take to save anyone’s job!!What was kinda stated is it is a very tough situation everyone has been put into which most field techs /union leaders warned a lot of the inside people could cause issues ,but most inside people only cared about that moment not the future repercussions !!! All that being said no one union wise has said they won’t fight any outsourcing or contracting.There is no doubt people not being together in locations with a direct purpose makes that fight very much difficult .I believe the company & unions will come to a quick easy extended contract but I do believe after the 4th year in the future we may be talking a different tune.
You can tell all the 99, 00, and 01 hires are super upset now. They’re so bad they attack each other. Just look at this post and others from the past day or so.
Verizon will be better in all departments once they’re gone.

@a6 why would you pay someone $100k a year when you can get someone else a lot cheaper by a switch of a dial. If the reps stayed in the office , they had a purpose. Now everyone loved WFH and it shot them in there foot. It’ll be interesting to see how the techs play this one out.
So you will take a pay raise and your union brothers lose their job . Doesn’t sound very union like of you . You should hit the streets if that is the contract , but you won’t. Union members preach , but are very selfish .
