The head of HR is coming to our site today. We are having a townhall at 9am. The WF site wife is at 11am today. Should our site be concerned?

The CCP lady?
Agreed, i think that level of ambiguity will actually increase attrition. Not knowing where your job stands for potentially years is torture! Continuing to put energy into working relationships and projects when you could be laid off anywhere from a month to three years (or whatever) is just exhausting. I agree that i think the timeline will be far shorter than the high estimate. The building feels practically empty currently, especially on the bottom floor. But who knows...
In response to @aig+1r30iyWm, we’ve been told that Barnhart will close in 2-4 years but I’m thinking it’ll be sometime this year. It not, by the end of 2025. That does mot mean that all groups will remain until then. I guess we’ll see who/what groups start vanishing.
@bgx+1r30iyWm
Yeah, this has been widely discussed on this site. Hundreds of people were let go at Sunset + Barnhart between August-February, but John D. recently visited the site to give the news to the other remaining groups.
I believe the timeline is 2 years for all to be let go, but there's a lot of uncertainty about who will be affected and when. I'd guess that the vagueness is designed to increase attrition, since not knowing and waiting is absolute torture. I mean, there's really no reason to drag things out for most groups at the Barnhart since there are many groups who only have a handful of folks working there (e.g. issue management, front-line risk, random tech people). But who knows when each group will be affected...
No don’t be concerned, they r coming to say hi & lay-off everyone.
@aig+1r30iyWm Barnhart? Were you given timeframe? I’m sorry to hear this.
Any updates?
Senior executive visited Hillsboro, OR in person to deliver the news that the site would be closing, so it's possible. Normally folks have a pretty good sense of whether their site is at risk for closure, so i don't think this would be a big surprise.
This is not a Tuesday after payday. You're just being paranoid.
I agree with the earlier comment that big shots do t do such things. But, it could be that an LOB exec is getting the hr exec to do their dirty job. Otherwise who cares about HR, it's not their turf to have town halls. Either a location strategy related town hall (location closing in 2-3 years) or layoffs.
The top execs rarely dirty their hands/rep by being the ones to deliver layoff news, so you should be ok. For now.
Which site?
No.
It should say WF site wide townhall is at 11am EST.
