Just got that my IPF is 132, but no promo. 2 prior years it was 125. Are we really that tight on budget?

I literally got 1.0 IPF and nothing else. This place (Cisco) is not a serious company. 😂 usually my IPF is waaay higher.
Was your previous company Mc Donalds or Open AI? That puts your IPF into perspective...
@f6 you may not have used Circuit enough. No, seriously it's a thing.

Career and trajectory are words i forgot many years ago being in Cisco for 15+ years, and this after a lot of hard work (Which unfortunately is only MY perspective).
VP can get HR to find people in their groups easily who are just completely shattered internally due to no one to look up to for a solution, but still continue to work to meet commitments. Its pure sacrifice of human life. The numbers of such people with no smiles on their faces are staggering.
Organization-wise, it would make sense to have a program where people can volunteer to leave for a package. Just being human at the VP level.
Pros : Misaligned, non-motivated, non-new-tech learners will take it. And Reqs can be filled with happier people.
Cons : What if good people leave since they will easily get other jobs.
Still its a reasonable solution since its crowdsourced and does not take time for the VP to do a research on employee mental state.
Only brown noses get promoted not based on performance
Cisco trained people to expect massive title inflation. Back in the day the industry standard for engineering was Engineer 1, Engineer 2 then Senior Engineer, and most never went beyond that on the engineering track with some moving to the management ranks to keep advancing.
At least on the software side I never worked with a Principal Engineer (and I worked with many) who had even basic software skills, basic systems skills, or any unique skill that one couldn't train an average person to do to justify that level of compensation. Even at the Technical Leader levels Cisco has too many software engineers that never did much more than 10 line bug fixes.
@d8 I expect to be properly compensated for my work. I am delivering on things that are waay above my pay grade for multiple years.
No promo for 2 years
You expect annual promotions???
@cg your boss is G2 or he/she/it needs to be one. good luck !!
My manager is an airhead. If he doesn’t get a raise or promotion, he make sure I don’t get one either.
its not budget, its what you eat that your team knows about? do you eat pigs? do you eat cattle like cows, bulls, or steers? both have different consequences depending on your director/vp and mangers. good luck!! (please note its nothing about racism, just what you like to eat).
@ag PLEASE fire that LR cannon on my direction!
That's fine. Staying here makes u underpaid. So any external jump is an easy 20 to 30% raise
I’m in a similar boat. I think I have the worst career trajectory out of everyone in my org. It’s depressing.
They are hoping you quit. only about 4% of cisco's workforce actually does anything meaningful. The rest of you poor souls are just cannon fodder for the next LR. they are banking on you throwing a fit in order to justify giving you the axe or best case scenario you just leave
