Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

WFH today but not any other time? Make the hypocrisy make sense.

“If your job allows it, we encourage you to work from home”

So they realize that there’s onsite workforce who needs to be present and customer facing workforce who needs to be present.

But everyone else, we realize your job allows you to work from home just as effectively … but go in the office 5 days and play pretend “collaboration” on your teams calls, chats, and emails so we can prop up Blackrock and vanguards corporate real estate portfolio so they don’t yell at John.

This place is a joke. The hypocrisy is sickening.

@dy

Gotta be a troll. Even you aren't so dimwitted that you fail to see the difference here.

Go back, work on better material with a focus on subtly and believability. Come back to try again after you've improved.

"After years of complaining, I finally get WFH, but it's still not enough, so I'll complain more."

Crybabies.

They claim that hours worked outside of the office don’t count. If it’s not an hour shown in the report then it’s an hour not worked. So I will not be working this whole week.

Boo hoo hoo. Wah wah wah. But I don't wanna work!

Don't make me get up early and leave the house! I wanna sleep in, have warm milk and cookies and watch TV.

Why is life SO tough?!?!?!

And without having to endure the presence of abrasive RTO cheerleaders like @ab

@ab the exact same thing I do in the office, just without the commute and all the distractions.

No how many times the one sad guy copy pasted the same false one liners the facts remain the same. Field and customer facing require 5 days. Office jobs do not. Anyone who doesn’t understand that this is just unnecessary extra steps for no gain to either side is just an id!ot

What are you really doing when you WFH?

RTO has really put a damper on my productivity.

With WFH, I was actually able to focus for once. I was getting SO MUCH done. I was running errands. I was spending time with the neighbors wife. And I really started perfecting my golf game at the country club.

Now, with RTO, I barely have time for anything other than work. But, at least I can catch up on a couple things today.

Thanks Stank!

Maybe if they turned the heat on. The people in my office have winter coats and hats on. Thats real productive.

Love the corporate generosity on display — sending out an email “granting permission” to work from home, as if the workforce wasn’t already planning to stay put the moment the roads iced over. Truly inspiring leadership.

And honestly, if you spent months trash‑talking RTO but still logged in from your couch today, that’s peak compliance. The company told everyone remote work wasn’t good enough, insisted we had to be in the office to perform, and now suddenly it’s fine, but only when it benefits them.

The strong‑arming worked so well that people are now voluntarily doing the very thing they were told was unacceptable. That’s not flexibility. That’s conditioning.

If you want it even more cutting, more deadpan, or more corporate‑safe, I can tune it.

“ Job requirements state office presence is associated with the position.”

Your field job requires you to be present, mine is done better when I’m at home. Going to an office is just extra steps with more cost and no gain.

This is all about what’s convenient for them. Stanley’s greed sickens me.

Job requirements state office presence is associated with the position. What other information is needed?
