You have an opportunity to sell, and i would highly recommend it.
We gonna visit a 50% or more haircut in the next coming days or weeks.
In every single earnings call Charlie alluded to the idea that the asset cap was going to be lifted - he never came out direct and said it was but he kind of hinted in way he was talking that it would be lifted soon.
Investors bought that line hook and sinker....and the stock was rewarded.
Everyone has high expectations that the asset cap would be lifted in 2021 and Chainsaw was going a superb job in axing staff and getting efficiency ratio down.
This weeks announcement that the feds are done waiting and about to impose stiff fines, break up the bank or who knows - this exposes the BIG LIE.
The price of the stock of this company rose from a more appropriate valuation of 28 bucks a share to nearly 50 in less than a year....all pumped on the HOPIUM that the banks problems were all in the past, a fresh start with a new CEO who was gonna quickly fix everything.
Trouble is - Wells Fargo is a complicated animal. Bullsh!t like paradigm shift, synergies, diversity and whatever doesn't exactly uncomplicate or fix any of the problems.
In prior roles, Chainsaw just sat at the top and fired a few people, but all in all, the enterprise he "led" kinda did ok on its own, no real trouble, no real problem, relatively simple.
Everyone reading this knows - Wells Fargo aint like that...at all.
To fix this boat anchor, you actually gotta get in and understand wtf is actually going on and get yer trousers dirty while you do it.
But chainsaw has never had dirty trousers in his life....and hes not about to start now.
I think his time at this bank is close to an end....the p00 is near the fan, and when the it finally hits, hes not gonna have anyone to blame and he wont have any solutions to the problem.
That and his tenure at any company almost never exceeds 2-3 years, he bails before anything ever catches up to him.
He will run away to go exploit another company cause this one is not only Too Big to Fail, its Too Big to Fix.... and hes WAY out of his league....and he does not want his "brand" tarnished by this giant fkn terd.
Watch and see....
Sell.
Sell early and sell it all - you can thank this board for saving your retirement account from a near certain life of eating catfood out of a can.
