Will they cut WFH remote workers first before those that are RTO? Or does that matter?

WFH vs hubs etc. are all just excuses for downsizing. It's PR. The big bank I work for has downsized 50% of its remote staff over the last 2 years, but now in-person roles are the clear majority of people getting downsized every month. Nothing changes really, just the messaging.
Let me guess, that "someone" was either a bottled blonde or cringey old man on fox news ?
@rr+1jypd76v1 then that someone is a mo--n you should stay away from.
Someone also told me they are also factoring in if you use pronouns in your email.
@qs sorry to hear this. Curious, did all three of you get severance? And how long does it take to pay out? Best wishes for something better for you all.
It doesn't make a difference in my experience. I was 1 of 3 people on my team that was laid off in March and 2 of us (me included) had complied with RTO. I am also in my mid-30s so it's not always the older ones on the team, they just cut what is needed to hit their numbers I guess.
In addition to age and salary, those on a pip or poor performance. That balances the ageism.
Age and salary level is a way higher factor than remote
WFH is not a factor
Agree with @ac it doesn't make a difference. They are laying off regardless of your workplace status.
What area in CBB? Wondering what areas will be impacted?
@OP my team just had layoffs in CBB and both RTO and WFH individuals were let go so I really don't think it makes a difference
