If we must keep putting more eggs into the India basket, then find a way to eliminate dependencies and silo them so we aren't forced to try and fit an 8 hour day into a 4 hour window. I'm so tired of having to bend over backwards for their goddam schedules and inflexibilty. The Well Life, huh? Constant fear of layoffs and poor sleep.

A town hall video from our FCRM team is boasting about growing "our impact" by hiring 160 ppl from India as analysts. Their equally thrilled about to expand the team to 200 bc a Chennai team is now being added!
Wow! Absolutely clueless when you announce offshore job increase on a Tuesday when people are getting laid off.
Now India, when that's too expensive, it'll be [insert 3rd world country here]. They are trying to figure out AI so they don't need any humans at all.
Also need to take into account the loss of customers since many US employees use the banking services of WF. As far as I know, we don’t have a branch in India. Even Ford knew that his employees were also his customers and would buy his cars. WF didn’t get that message.
Wow, I really triggered the whiner.
To add, this is taken directly from thelayoff.com front page:
"The purpose of this site is to provide a space for anyone who'd like to discuss the possibility, likelihood or impacts of layoffs in a company of interest."
Please read that and note the word impact. Go on. Take as much time as you need.
Yet, you are still here, reading it and complaining about it. Why are you wasting time and energy on it if it's not giving you any value or meaning?
India is a major source of layoffs. It's a valid complaint. The more vocal we are, the better the chance for change. Collectively, we do have some control over it and it is possible things can change for the better.
Nice try tho.
India provides 26 weeks of paid maternity leave, whereas in the U.S., federal law only mandates unpaid leave
Agree! I have to be flexible for their hours but their work day seems to get shorter every day. Not to mention the amount of “babysitting” it requires.
And not to mention how mysoginistic the Men in India are. If you are a woman, good luck trying to work with the male workers in India, they will completely ignore you.
I'm tired of people constantly filling this board with whining about something they have zero power to fix.
Where is the unbiased study showing where we actually save $ ?
It needs to be (net savings ) > (
+ HR costs to implement this fiasco
+ all the severance related to jobs shifted there
+ net efficiency as compared to when the jobs were in the US
+ all the chaos from time zone diffs
+ confused lost Indian souls).
We all deserve an honest analysis.
Based on their quality, yes, 5 of them literally equals one of us. How long until we feel the pain from this grand experiment?
It’s inevitable that India will be taking most of our jobs away. 5 of them equals one of us, maybe even more than 5.
