Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Be careful how you deal with problematic leaders at EJ

A senior leader kept making derogatory remarks, so I eventually stopped engaging with them socially. After that, my manager started ignoring my contributions, and not long after that, I suddenly had a bad performance review for the first time ever. Funny how that happened.

They are not leaders. They are sales people, peddling useless things and trying to act their role.

Leaders are human and aren’t perfect. Regardless of how my leader view me personally, I try to demonstrate excellence in my work, for the good of the people around me. Eventually (and hopefully), you will harvest the fruits of your labor.

I’ve only had one good leader in my tenure with Edward Jones, and it’s the one I have now. I am not at all impressed by leadership at this firm.

Everywhere I look, I see low morale, low engagement, people who are afraid to speak the truth. It’s heartbreaking. I’m sure pockets of psychological safety still exist, but largely I don’t see it.

@ab, my leader was so full of herself.

I'm in a department where I have never had a bad team leader. All have been good/great and helped me advance.
