Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

It’s far from over

For those of you who did not get laid off on Thursday, do not feel like you are safe. There is more yet to come. February/March I heard is the next wave. This layoff affected thousands at ALL levels, all the way down to the frontline. Verizon has over 6000 stores and what’s left of our corporate locations? 1200 or so after Thursday? If you’re thinking “Phew, at least I’m safe,” THINK AGAIN. Don’t get comfortable or naive to the fact that you very well could be next, no matter your performance.

Reducing corporate store to one per centralized area. Just like Apple stores, verizon will have one hub of a corporate store to handle the BS while all satellite indirects do the brunt of selling. Verizon makes so much from indirect locations. It’s exactly how I would run the company to be the most profitable. It’s just business sadly

It's never over. Verizon isn't a leading tech company. It's a telecom company. The phone company. Always was, always will be.

The wireless market is saturated and the pricing continues to drop (not at Verizon of course, but elsewhere).

It is a race to the bottom.

Just like all the other legacy telecom businesses that aged out, like Landlines, DSL, legacy Data services, IP services, etc. Wireless will age out next or become almost free.

You'll see. Change industries. Get a job in healthcare.

R2b will be next once the stores are using the new immediate lead button to inside sales

More corp stores to flip as well

This rif was based on geographical locations, next is performance and redundant roles
