Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Does SpaceX have BTC ?

Time has proven it again.
One of the few U.S. companies with minimal to zero offshore tech centers in low-cost countries just showed why that matters. Those centers don’t just drag innovation, they inflate long-term costs and drift further from real-world needs.
Talent, skills, and innovation win in the long run.
Instead of building local capabilities and investing in American communities, management and sponsors chased quick payoffs by offshoring our future. They’re not alone far too many did the same. Short-term greed, long-term regret.

SpaceX is a growth company in a growth industry. We are in a sunset industry with no future and all we can do is manage cost. What is so hard to understand

@ac What if I told you…

That aerospace companies can use third party consultants/contractors and still be ITAR compliant?

Just like a lot of groups in our life most likely kickbacks going on. No one can hold these people accountable so the money will fly. The lack of helping their own communities here in the states is a national security risk frankly.

@aa Why would have OP worked in Aerospace? This is a layoff board for ExxonMobil…. I’d assume 99% have not worked in Aerospace…

@ab
Never worked in aerospace?
You mo--n !!!!! SpaceX’s core propulsion, avionics, and flight-critical roles (in-house or contractor) are ITAR-restricted to US citizens/green card holders only. No Bangalore Technical Center farming out rocket science or creating slop.
India can’t even deliver a fully indigenous jet engine after decades , struggles with basic car engine engineerings and you’re claiming they handle reusable aero engines? That’s that’s delusion.
SpaceX’s ‘inexperienced kids’ in Texas/California are landing rockets while cost-arbitrage cope watches from the sidelines and creating pile of recycle.

@OP Also, SpaceX all of these other big-name aerospace companies run by tech bros rely heavily on external contractors and consultants to provide the actual technical expertise. Turns out that rocket science is…rocket science, and the inexperienced kids who staff these companies often lack the high-level judgement needed to make critical decisions. They do learn fast though, and they’re good about following guidance.

@OP Seems like you’ve never worked in aerospace. If you had, you’d know how d-mb this question is, even as an attempt at trolling.

Its only a matter of time. When the head retires/quits/exits, the accountants/MBAs will take over and run that playbook. That's all they know how to do.
