Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T cares more about butts in seats than people's lives

This place would rather see you chained to your desk than actually happy. Doesn't matter if you're ki-ling it. If they don't physically see you, it's like the work never happened. Meanwhile, everyone's burning out and management just keeps whistling past the graveyard. Whole building's got that "quiet quitting" vibe these days.

“already told if you’re in Atlanta no advancement. Ok cool,”

That’s why Jeremy is there.

I show up, respond to some emails, attend teams calls, and go home. I’m doing what they are paying me to do. They don’t pay extra when I go above and beyond or deliver innovative things, already told if you’re in Atlanta no advancement. Ok cool, it’s a paycheck until I find something else. Nothing more.

They don’t want you happy because they want you to leave. If they cared about your happiness they would have actually taken the alarming survey results seriously instead of sweeping them under the rug.
That survey was a widespread call for change that would result in a higher level of employee satisfaction, but instead you got an angry RTO manifesto thrown back in your face.
Make no mistake, this is not a good place to work and employee happiness is at the bottom of the priority list, and that’s intentional.

That’s exactly right. After John’s 8/1 email I just show up and do the bare minimum now. I used to care a lot and work extra pretty often, but now I know there is no loyalty. No one above me cares about me or how far I overextend myself, so now I’m done doing it. I think he forgot this is a two way street.

Everyone around seems to echo the same mindset. I think a lot of people feel the same, burned out and no longer motivated. Many were holding on to hope of a revert from 5 days to 3 or even full time virtual. Pretty clear that’s not happening now, so we all quiet quit and look for greener pastures. FAFO.
