This mentality is ki-ling the brand. Our brand is built on the opposite of this idea. A decade ago things worked, network, systems and customer service were PREMIUM. Now we piece mail it all out and no one is responsible when it all goes to sh-t.

Foreman job at vz is just a glorified attendance taker job....these 2nd and 3rd liners know it also....but to speak up would mean they just manage attendance takers...so the CEO is never gonna know how much cash he's burning just to take attendance

the customer base will not increase at all. If contractors are used with offshore, that will lead to higher costs. The costs are huge compared to USA labor. This will force the cost to be pushed onto the customers. Customers who can't afford it, will go to the plans which are not the top three. Thus causing huge acceleration in layoffs of US workers, contractors, and offshore. There are just way too many aval contractors than what the workforce needs. Sorry, but will only cause massive layoffs.

'Trial testimony also revealed that Charter "hired Roy Holden without verifying his employment history, which would have revealed that he had lied about his work history," - so if HR doesn't do required checks - it doesn't matter if they are regular or contract employees. Did they save money from not performing this background check in a rush to get this tech hired????

I was thinking we should get rid of the foremen because most of them know nothing about this job anyway. We could share their pay and do a much better job and be happier. As far as contractors go 20 years into the fios build and they still can’t do a lot of these jobs correctly.

Biggest cost savings would be stop letting techs dispatch as a two man crew on a one man job. Replacing a single Adtran and loading the config takes ONE person. There was not one, but TWO techs in NY dispatched on this device replacement, and NEITHER ONE knew to load a config from a text file to the new device.

Oh, and they were brothers, too. Earn your own time per tech and stop putting one guy on an all-day “ticket”, perpetuating the “buddy” system. That’s 100% waste.
