@eh Personally, I'm embarrassed to wear anything CBS related anymore, all my stuff was company issued like everybody else I'm sure. It seems like an unspoken silent protest - I don't think it's a plot by union groups that I know of. easy way to find out is to see what the news crews are wearing around the building.
I don't know if I just noticed this because of the cold weather & snow - but has anybody else noticed that employees at the Broadcast Center have stopped wearing their CBS News garments - hats, jackets etc. with the CBS Logo on them? Was this planned ? Did I not get the memo? Is this some kind of silent protest? Or are employees now afraid of being seen on public with clothing that flags them as CBS News employees? Anybody know what's going on?

the notice date was 10 29 these are old - the posted date doesn't matter .. also the LA Times article for those behind the paywall was how they would handle the Warner acquisition not the present ..

For the gazillionth time, WARN notices are posted AFTER people are laid off because of the way they structure the layoff process: you stay an on-paper "employee" for a long stretch AFTER you've been told you've been let go and been shut out of the system. They keep paying your full salary and benefits until the end of the window that WARN covers, so that the posting of those roles happens well after people have in reality left the company.
@a9 Layoffs can happen at any time. Regarding, this particular notice, posters @a3 & @a5 are correct - these are for the layoffs from last fall. The date of the notice has corresponded to the layoff dates going back to each iteration the past few years. That is the data point which is relevant. @a4, the numbers never seem to match but we don't really know the actual head count lost. Information posted in the media, etc. are usually very generic.

The "Date of WARN notice" says 2025-10-29 even though "Date Posted" is 2026-1-13.
So, same thing as always. They post it after the fact by around 90 days, this time a couple weeks short of that.
The 2 week offset likely coincides with the RTO announcement a couple weeks before the end date of 10/31/2025 for those who opted in for the severance.
@a3 I’m sure. I have screenshots from when the last round of layoffs happened and the numbers are completely different.
@OP Are you sure these aren’t for the last round of layoffs? The company’s m.o. is just to pay 2 to 3 months severance in lieu of WARN payment to avoid any penalties, and those numbers are usually posted retroactively.
