Of course, under Alvind and the Pipmunks, IBM didn't make the top 10 companies to work for in the US, but maybe they were #1 in India for Alvind's National Vindaloo Curry Toilet Infrastructure. And don't forget the Krabanaugh contributions.

@OP - IBM doesn't need to make it to the top 10. IBM will simply acquire these best companies to work for, raid on their assets and IP, and soon their employees would be posting here after wondering what just happened to them.
@a8 It is if you're approaching retirement time AND the company you work for is acquired by IBM AND you realize from the get-go that IBM is synonymous with horse sh-t AND you do just enough to get by because you really don't give a fu-k AND every time an RA happens you hope you're on the short list. Alternatively, it's probably worth it if you're a stupid schmuck with no integrity who enjoys lying about IBM capabilities and who doesn't mind knowing that eventually IBM will sc--w you up the a-s.
@a9 BS .... IBM is nothing but an Indian managed and run sweatshop. There are lots of better places to start your career than at IBM. Even in these rough times.
@a8 it is if you are starting out to have on your resume. The name still holds some weight. But use it to find a position at a more prestigious place

@OP, Notice, the list of companies does not include companies that ship Americans work to India. Also, None of them is run by Indians.
