Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Where are actual HUBs

They say Hubs are three locations, but what are the other sites and who decides go to a HUB or not? I think California has one not sure name, Virginia, Tampa, etc. I’m worried to move and sell and move my family only to get let go. Seems if you are a low performer and at a Hub your safe.

"Because baich and all his direct reports he brought over from aig and wells Fargo are from there. No other reason."

Interesting. Wells Fargo is the bain of the banking industry. How many times has that company been fined in the last 10 years for fraudulent business practices! All parts of WF should be avoided at all costs.

Then why are they doing so much hiring in Charlotte now?

Because baich and all his direct reports he brought over from aig and wells Fargo are from there. No other reason.

Goes against too many locations and colacation with managers arguments they've been using to fire people when they don't move to the originally listed hubs

@ae It seem like if your AVP and/or your Director isn't in that HUB, you're going to be tapped to move. I was in Bothell with my Director and AVP in residing in Atlanta, but they made me move to Dallas! So much for effective collaboration!

Why move for a company that isn't fighting to keep you? When all is said and done, what will moving really get you? Certainly not a promotion or job security.

Everyone not in core hubs like Dallas, Atlanta, or Middleton will be asked to either relocate or surplussed. That is how they plan to hit their headcount targets.

If you think you are invincible, you are naive. We saw how quickly they moved from a 3 day hybrid schedule to a full 5 day RTO. It took nearly 2 months for that to go into effect from their notice date. Our department like most tried to push back, but HR mandated it.

@a7 Charlotte has a decent sized presence. AT&T owns or leases many sites in the area including a data center with 1,000,000 sq ft. Additional site opening on January 5, 2026 making room for Cybersecurity and mobility teams.

Relocating to HUB, RTO, Fraud presence report are few things which AT&T use to do Fraudulent treatment of their employees. There are many employees working full time remote from non hub locations even in same group where many people got fired under cobc for not being in office for 8 hours that using fraud presence report. So don’t get into which is hub locations. These things are just termed to keep doing fraudism

Don't trust that your job will still be available after you move. If you were truly valued and they truly needed your expertise in a different location they would offer a relocation package or some other incentive. The goal here is to reduce headcount, you are a number...nothing else.

Uprooting your life and your whole family for this company is an exercise and futility. Better off looking for opportunities elsewhere unless you feel like you have a marketable enough skill set to find a new job in the location you move to. Move because you WANT TO, and because it makes sense for you and your family, don't do it for the company and a job... They won't be doing you any favors.

Varies. Depends on who you ask and what organization you’re in. HUBS are like RTO- Rules apply for the and not me.

Depends on who you want to believe. And what close locations are included. And in what division. Originally were these 9. Dallas (includes plano), Atlanta (multiple including Alpharetta), Seattle (really Bothell but Redmond has already been shuttered), Middleton, Bedminster (rumors that it will eventually shutter and those moved to middletown when they finish construction to pack more people in), san ramon, st Louis (but numerous gutting there anyway), los angeles (but that was when Warner people had big presence and included multiple locations around there), and wash DC.

Numerous exceptions where they claim "centers of excellence" to protect fortunate few. Or places they call customer facing usually in suburb places like wash DC suburbs near government contract areas.

Then there are made up hubs like the new Charlotte that never was on any list.
