Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Tone (deaf)

JD has said in that audio that this culture of dynamic working, even four day work weeks is, is semi-diseased.

“And don't give me the sh-t that work from home Friday works. I, I call a lot of people on Friday and not a godda-n person to get a hold of.”

The thing I would ask you to note in that recording is not really the content or the fact that JD thinks that working seven days a week is something we should all aspire to…

He keeps ranting:
“I've been working seven days a godda-n week since COVID, and I come in…Where's everybody else but here and there and the zooms?”

What I notice is his TONE!

He says he's not angry at the young people he seems to hold in such contempt, but his voice, it ripples with rage. A colleague of mine once told me this quote, that many people hate change because they see change as violence against the status quo, and they react to change as if it is violence against them.

His voice, barely containing his rage, is exactly that, a response to the change, to a status quo that he has been comfortable with for all his life.

An environment that he thinks all people in his organization, and indeed in every organization, should be subject to.

An environment where working seven days a week is something to aspire to, when it is not.

There is one joker in Dallas who is an MD no less. This guy speaks in his native tongue constantly and is barely there in the office. He is often going on a 'trip' to guess where? His native town of course. No one has bothered to touch him. JD or no JD. This is the ultimate energizer bunny. Nice try, JD. Touch my boy in Dallas, if you really mean what you say.

@a7+1jm8n6q2a these people are also known as middle managers aka class traitors. They think they will be the CEO one day but in the future it is their kids and grandkids that will be fu---d.

@a6+1jm8n6q2a meanwhile these same boomers outsource management to India so you can't even have a meeting in person anyway. And get SLOP. Great geniuses.

The OP nailed it. The boomers are going to learn "their way" is no longer the right way. Times are changing. And we need to put these boomers in old people homes so they can boss each other around and power trip on their assumed individual powers. Delusional C Suite leaders are soon to be for the pastures.... and the rest of us will change the business world to not be 5 days in the office.
