Today was my day. I've been preparing since we got the first notification about location strategy so no surprise. It was a good 26 years for the most part. Now I can enjoy having a stress free summer. Tech is being hit hard today. A lot of valuable resources and knowledge being pushed out because of location. Good luck to everyone.

I was apart of the Tech layoffs on Tuesday 4/29/25 and in a core market, so they are moving beyond location strategy for sure. There were 3 on my team eliminated. I'll enjoy the 7 month severance and peace of mind. Not upset in the least, Wells has become a toxic place to work!
TCOO here , me and several others from core locations displaced today. Some of us over 50 yo, some over 40 yo. Average time at Wells 5 -7yrs.

I am so happy for you. I was hoping today was going to be my displacement day. I was looking forward to at least 60 days stress free. I've updated my resume and ready to start looking on day 61. There's always Tuesday, May 13th. I'm looking forward to the golden ticket on that day or soon! Have the best summer OP.

while it may in fact be that more older employees got the ax than. ot, it may just be the fact that you have more older, longer tenrued employees in legacy non core or specialty markets as opposed to newer and younger employees who are all being hired into core markets the last few years.

Cut today in Payments. Job going to India after I was forced to train the replacement.

sure sounds like they are still targeting the older workers. only a few out of the 30+ they laid off with me were under 50.
they are using "location strategy" as a cover for hardcore offshoring.

I got mine today. I could not be happier. I had 44 years, worked with some great people. Congratulations to all of us that were at the end of our careers. To all the people that did not want this, I wish the best of luck to you. I hope you find an ever better job. I was in technology.
