Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Layoff Talk kinda Quiet

Haven’t heard much about layoffs.

Everything revolving around the 4 days RTO.

Usually, there are confirmed rumors but right now there is a lot of silence. Not sure if company expecting people to quit and then see where to make cuts.

Like everything else, I’m expecting the leadership team to fail even when it comes to layoffs.

@dy Not the company, they took people from there direct here to plan the downsizing.

Wait, they hire back BCG again? What’s your source?

why do you think they hired the BCG people in several divisions. So they can drive the path to layoffs. Its going to be a huge number removed.

I don't think many people will be quitting because the job market is bad right now. I also expect employees to be terminated for not complying with RTO and in some cases, "mistakenly" fired as some like myself recently received a second threatening email about RTO compliancy even though I have met my number.

It's quiet because people are waking up

May be a rash of retirements because of many making 35 years this year and the pension freezes after 35 years. So may not need cuts

@OP

"Not sure if company expecting people to quit and then see where to make cuts..."

If you're not sure about this then you haven't been paying attention. Quite obvious for some time this has been the plan. Horrible communication, then a sudden change right before everyone was expecting 9-1. Colossal stooge move by management. Of course one would assume an intent for attrition and that this was done on purpose (the RTO + horrible way in which it was handled) its always easier to assume it's the ineptitude of management because it usually is. However in this instance, they would like to have people seperate.

LL calibration sessions should be completed by now, along with mid year performance check ins. I would assume it will continue to be quiet until Sept, so they can compare performance metrics along with RTO metrics to determine where culling is needed. Sept is the deadline for RTO.
