Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO will force me to quit

I don’t want to. I want to keep the job for now, at least until I find a somewhat decent replacement. I also do not want to play into the leadership’s hands and leave on my own. But the commute is crazy. I lose hours every day just getting to work and back. I will be forced to find something more convenient. Well, not convenient - doable really. I simply can’t manage it as it is now.

To the @$$hat saying people moved out of nowhere during covid, newsflash.. Alpharetta is my 5th building as they kept closing buildings here. Do you even know how much houses are in Alpharetta? millions. It is one of the most expensive town in north GA. If you want to rent a 600sqt it is about $2000.

Then you should quit because you weren't meant for the job in the first place! You should have never taken the job, so quit while you can!

Instead of quitting, just work from home for as long as you can and report back here with all the actions the company takes so we can make our decisions based on that.

We have too many people that’s main job is to “be on teams calls all day” does everyone need to be on these calls not saying anything just getting paid?

So people not in hub, but virtual in designation, okay to commute once a month, and perform well should be fine beyond 2025? Or their entire world crashing December 2025?

“Well don't think about working for JPMChase or any of the big tech companies as they are doing as well not just T. We may not like it but this post COVID world of where business follow trends and right now it is RTO.”

Friend of mine works there. Because he works a schedule with a weekend shift, he only has to do 2 days in the office per week. Not all leadership are as stooooped as ours.

For those who state long commute because moved away during COVID from office ——- WRONG!!!!!!!!?!!

Company SHUTDOWN MY OFFICE and decided that I have a call center job (I don’t) and can only be performed amongst a bunch of strangers in Dallas.

RTO = WTF Way this d### company foolishly implemented it. But then again Stankey doesn’t seem to get anything right. Except that Boomers need to be gone: be the FIRST to go you incompetent old id--t

Hang in there, OP. Do the bare minimum. Skirt the line. Find something else. Maybe you’ll get laid off before then and can collect a fat check on the way out.

@ @a7+1jjcr2zve

You’re not losing your job because of RTO you’re choosing not to go in. Big difference.

If you moved out into the middle of nowhere and the commute is too much for you why don’t you rent a room from someone in town? Literally just rent a room. You can probably do it for 300 bucks a month. Be sure and tell them you don’t need access to food or the television or anything. You just literally need to be a bed to sleep in Monday night through Thursday night. There’s plenty of people going through divorces that would love someone like that to help them offset costs.

They have no say about how another country/nation controls their people, only ours. This is nothing more than a power grab to force the minions back in line! To show that they have the power to control you! To make it painful on you that you will not forget who wields the power & control in America! It is a sub servant play to try and normalize the base after their social experiment of the last 4 years failed drastically! All the manipulated numbers, lies and mass, forced change through the corporations has come to fruit. Unless you have been in a box the last 4 yrs and do not realize what your eyes, bank accounts and customer service has been showing: there is a tipping point folks and it seems we are teetering on the line as we speak! That is what RTO is about and why the largest companies are pushing it...you know sheeple, the herd mentality! Companies with poor leadership will be rooted out and this will be their demise until the next big issue comes up and all the RTO stuff gets forgotten about. Do whats best for you, it may not always mean more money! Best wishes to all going forward!

@a3+1jjcr2zve here's a newsflash for you - RTO came about almost 2 years ago. Has NOTHING to do with Trump. Take up your problem with the Stink.

Saddest part is many of us losing are jobs due to RTO are being replaced by offshore teams who are WFH.

Some of you voted for RTO Pres Musk said it’s “not fair” that some people can work from home but not everyone can
So he opposes it! I love my non commute to the office. It’s so far I walk every day. So happy Trump won. Now the real show begins under the real African American President Elon Musk. Hopefully the CEO will be in the office too, it will be nice to see him daily

You are not alone. RTO is the d-mbest thing this company has ever done. Go spend 3 hours a day driving to an office to be on teams calls. Makes a whole ton of sense…
